We are from New York and will be traveling to Amsterdam for a few months. Does anyone have any advice about short term rental apartments? I am looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom furnished unit in amsterdam for 1000-1300 euro. Is this possible? Any info is helpful. Thanks :D

Depends on your stay, the minimum seems to be 6 month lease but there might be exceptions, as for rent in that range yes you can definatly find that. Depending on location that is.

1000-1300 wont get 2 weeks, maybe, depending on time of year. Average around 2800-3000 per month, EURO. Maybe break for longer term stay 3-6 months, negotiate.

Price will vary, cheap places 1500-2000 euro month, do your homework.

outside of the city center (extremely west joordan or extreme south area) I've seen apartments going for 900-1500 euro per month. Its the short term rentals in the center (2 weeks or less) that are overpriced mikey :(

do an internet search for amsterdam long term rental and also check out www.craigslist.com and click on amsterdam then apartments/sublets

    hey tex,

let me know how the newest renovation of the bulldog is........
i used to stay there in the past when they had a super affordable 4 person room and stayed there during phase 1 and 2 of there 3 phase renovation. I heard its alot nicer now but it certainly is more expensive. you will like the location but avoid buying gear from the coffeeshop downstairs (even though its a decent place to hang in)

I looked at different options, and even thought about a house boat. With just two of us, the house boat was not practical, but

I rent a great houseboat every year with my girl for only 850 euros a week with an awesome location and has everything including a king bed, washer/dryer etc.., you will never rent anything else once you rent a houseboat. Here we are on last years houseboat. enjoy yourself!!!

It was great, I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, the towels were above standard, and bathroom was up-to-date. The people were pleasent, and the breakfast was better than expected... I would recommend it to anyone..
