Better living through Science.

You know... its a long story, well actualy, several stories rolled into one. But the best place to start with this one, like many stories, is at the begining. But I wrote this whole thing high, and it might make more sense if you read it while your high, so if you got it, go toke it.




A little over a week ago, I had a very sevre asthma attack.
Long story short, I had to stay 4 nights in the hospital. It really sucked alot. It wasnt herbs fault tho. It was because I had a "very bad sinus infection" (doctors own words) and I was under a ton of stress, which has been known to make be have bad Asthma.
So, anyway, having to be hospitalized for asthma is never good, even if I am sure herb wasnt unrelated, I desided I should stop smoking.

So the day I got out of the Hospital, I bought a Vaporizer! I had been researching them for a while.. checking out the best prices, some of the accessories, other peoples testimonial on them, etc...
I ended up paying $150 at my favorite headshop, for a really awsome VaporBros vaporizer. Its not a handsfree, its just a plain standard old one. Alot of friends told me to get a digital, one said to get the BC Bud kind with the big bulb, etc.
I got the good old wooden box kind...

Im just gunna say this.. If you have been considering buying a vaporizer but have been putting it off.... Go buy one right now.
If you want to get a better high, use less weed, not to iritate your lungs at all, or anything.. Go get a Vaporizer.
No if ands or buts, just go do it... but wait till your done reading this first.. you will see a few very good reasons why.

So, being as nosey and inquisitive as I am, after I bought my new toy (vape) I went to another headshop looking for accessories for it.. Like, a new whip or whatever.. But the lady showed me something really awsome.

It was a Vaporizer Hose to Glass on Glass Bong attachment.

Hook up this piece of glass to the hose (you had to remove the mouth piece) and then just slide it into your glass on glass bong, and it will fit perfectly.
I never understood the whole "Glass on Glass" thing till I used this thing.

If you are gunna a buy a Bong, get something thats Glass on Glass. I just happened to get a glass on glass one a long time ago, because it was really thick glass, and I wanted something sturdy.

The pieces just fit together perfectly, theres no rubber pieces or anything to make a tight seal. Its just, you stick it in, and it gives perfect suction and just is awsome. I mean like, wow.

So I tried out my new Vaporized bong hits.

Oh my god.

Seriously. Oh my god.

Ill tell you the whole experience in a moment, but for now, im diverting the story back in another direction.

So I go back to more head shops, and I start looking for glass on glass accessories, vaporizer accessories, anything I can add to my setup. And I was talking to the sales guy (again, at my favorite head shop) about mutli section Roor's. and other "Name brand glass". And I realized.

Wait a sec.....

These glasses have built in Diffusers, it has multiple places to cool the smoke.. Could a bong that produces such smooth hits be used with a Vaporizer? Would it filter out too much THC? What would these hits be like?

You ever used a piece with a Diffuser? I bought this little Bubbler which had a simple diffuser, and it made a big difference. It basicly splits up the smoke into smaller bubbles. Smaller bubbles give the smoke more area to get cooled. Basicly, it takes smooth bong hits and makes them even smoother.
I told the guy, "Well, its probably crazy but, are there any kinda glass on glass diffuser that I can attach to my bong?"
The guy walks over to a shelf full of stuff, and pulls out this thing that looked like a long bowl. The thing just slides into your bong, and converts your standard bong into one with an air tight diffuser.

Seriously, just like that, I upgraded my bong.

Upgradeable bongs??? Yes. Why I didnt know about this sooner? I have no idea at all. Why the hell didnt anyone tell me? All the stuff fits air tight, and you can get some amazing glass on glass pieces. If I wanted to upgrade it even more, I could spend an extra $50 and get an Ash Catcher. So basicly, I can add a whole extra chamber if I so desire. All of a sudden, all this glass on glass stuff, all the name brand this and that. Well, it didnt seem so rediculous after all. When i used to see Roor bongs and say "Shit, that costs $200, but how is it any better than this other bong that costs like $50?" Sure, they look alot alike, but when you start looking at the technicalities.. but more about Roor bongs later.

While I was in the hospital, I had like a 1/4th of Kush. It was my stash. And it was some dope Kush too. I hadnt had any good weed in a long time. And now that im trying to take care of my lungs, im gunna spend the extra few bucks, buy good weed so I dont have to smoke a whole bunch of stress weed insted.

I come back home, after 4 days in the hospital, 4 days of testing, and having people visit you that you kinda dont really want to be there, and needles, god I hate needles. I have a phobia of Hypodermic Needles. Its not that they scare me, as much as it is that I become weak and can almost faint when they start becoming involved. So yeah, I go 4 days through all that, and what do I find when I come home?

That my Cousin went ahead and smoked up basicly my whole stash cause he ran out of his. Consider, "his" weed was also a gift from me. I happened to buy an 1/2th of kush a few days before this Hospital thing, and I paid for 4/5ths of it (litteraly) and then gave him half of it. I did it cause he has hooked me up while I was broke. So im like, ill give the guy a gift here.

So, oh well. I got out of the hospital, bought a vaporizer + accessories, but dont have any stash to speak of at all.
So I called up all my friends, and I couldnt get anything from anyone. Except one guy. Thing is tho, its Shwag. Horrible awful straight outa Mexico Shwag. Here I am, living in So.Cal which has some of the best herb in the world, And im stuck with Mexican Brick, exactly the kinda stuff I was trying to get away from.

So, I went ahead and met my buddy to pick up that Shwag at a mutual friends house. I had been bragging about how awsome my new setup was, so I went ahead and brought the whole thing over to get everyone stoned hopefuly.

If there is one thing I have learned in the past 24 hours, its that Vaporized hits from an Ice Catching Diffuser bong are Hardcore.

How hardcore?
Well.... We put this shwag in the vape.

The guy I bought it from, had been smoking this stuff for a while. Hes a stoner, and like alot of stoners who have practice being stoners, it takes a while to get stoned.

4 hits.

Thats all it took. He had 4 hits from the VapoBong (lol, I like that name) and he said "Oh shit, I promised myself I wasnt gunna get this high."
He was giggling like a little girl. 4 hits (not even a full bowls worth) of Shwag had just kicked his ass.

You see... When you smoke a normal pipe vs. a normal bong, People often say bongs get them higher? Why? Probably has to do with being able to take bigger hit and get more herb deep into thier lungs. Adding a Bong at the end of a vaporizer, its like going from a pipe (normal vaporizer with a whip) to a bong (super utlra bong with vapors!).
Adding a bong makes vaporizers that much more amazing. Seriously.
Sure, you filter out some THC, but for every bit of THC you do filter out, you are getting so much more deep into your lungs.

Going back to my cousin who "borrowed" all my herb. I told him, he was not allowed to use this amazing Machine until he got more herb for us, and shared liberaly with me.
Of course he wasted no time, and got some more herb, too bad that was also shwag. But oh well. He made good on his deal, so ill make good on mine.

So we are sitting around, He did not believe me when I said "This thing will get you more fucked up than anything you have ever used before".
He thought I was talking mad shit. He thought I was sooooooooo full of it.

He went and smoked 2 bowls of shwag.

It LITTERALY knocked him on his ass. He was on the ground saying "Oh my god, what am I doing down here?". Consider, the guy normaly smokes Hash oil and kush. He has a high tollerance, and some nights when we have shwag, we stand around for like an hour just trying to catch a buzz.

Later in the night we were making food, and he was getting close to finishing it. HE STARTED LICKING THE PLATE. He licked the thing clean, Seriously, he couldnt stop himself.

I said "You realize right, that herb makes people do some really dumb shit sometimes. But for every 1 person that does super stupid shit there are like a thousand others that are responcsible with it. But every time there is an Anti-Drug commerical, they always show that 1 guy.... Tonight, you are that one guy."

He couldnt argue me on that point.

The moral of the story is.
If you have never used a vaporizer or a bong, Go do it, Do it till your not like "OMFG THIS IS SO AWSOME", and then upgrade again.
If you have a bong, and enjoy it, go buy a vaporizer and hook it up to it.
If you have a vaporizer, go hook it up to a bong (buy a nice glass on glass one danmit!). This asumes of course that you can have an wood box kind. If you have a Dome one or a volcano or whatever, well, you might be kinda outa luck.
If you have Bong thats hooked up a vaporizer, WHY THE HELL DIDNT YOU TELL ME SOONER?

Smoking through a Bong with a vaporizer, its like... Taking deep bong hits of air. You can take the deepest most amazing hits ever. They get you so fucked up its like you had never even smoked before.

Smoking through a vape (especialy with a bong) uses alot less herb. I spent about $300 on all the equipment to put this all together. and im 100% sure, without a single doubt in my mind, that it was not only worth it, but will save me a bunch of money in the long run. At the very least, I use about a quarter as much herb, as if I had been smoking it out of a pipe or a bong (without the vapor) or whatever.
So, think about it like this. Lets say you spend $100 a month on herb, which, if your getting like $35 1/8ths about 1/8th of decent herb a week. If you have a bong you can convert, and you spend an extra $200 or whatever on getting a vaporzier and the connectors for it, you will not only have amazing hits, but in just about 2 or 3 months, you will have saved enough cash from herb, on the cost of this whole setup. It pays for itself.
Oh, and another thing, theres hardly any smell at all. You can smoke out of this thing for an hour, and you wont reek of herb later. Seriously. I have a story about the smell related to this, but I have already said far too much.

just a quick word about Roor's. Im still investigating them. People have told me (several people in fact) that they noticably making the smoking more enjoyable. People have said that they have very scientificly studied the way the air flows and all kinds of other things, and have perfected how well these bongs hit.
I donno if its true. If you have used a Roor and have any input on this, please please please tell me. Cause if Roor's are that awsome. Once I can afford one, im gunna buy one, since I think its the only thing left that I could possibly do to make this awsome smoking experience even better.

Question about the 'whip' style vap though. Do you sit and let the vapor fill a chamber, or do you just toke on it like you would a hookah?

thats a ..weird story.. i just dont understand how the only thing u can get is stress. its so easy to get chronic and ur stuck with stress how sad. its ok

oh man. I just smoked a bowl outa it. I got some good stuff in there. And oh man, im so fucking baked.

And for dinner, I made.... Bugers with Saurkrout (sp?), Grilled onions, Bread and Butter Pickels, and then Horseradish Dijion Mustard.

They are so good, thank god I made 2 of them... and to wash it all down, a 6 pack of New-Castles...

mmmmmmm..... so delicious.

 

You suck on it like a Hookah. The vapors that come out are kinda thick, they are nice tho.

so yeah, and honestly, since im in CA, I gotta pay sales tax, so in the end it was probabaly a little more than $300.

I got the bong at Dementia in Malibu. They have a nice selection of Glass on Glass non name-brand bongs. The bong I got there was awsome. Its the like 5mm glass, so its really thick and wont break easy. And it has a 14mm glass on glass hole. So you can slide in a 14mm glass bowl, or the vaporizer attachment, or whatever. Also tho, my bong has an ice catcher, which is really nice.
The diffuser also helped make the smoke alot nicer. The one I got was Roor, because it had alot of very small holes, and the smaller the holes are, they better the vapor is filtered. So I spent more on that than you had to, but I figured for the extra $10 or $15, it was worth it. Also, the slide in diffuser I got was 14mm (the size of my bong), which is the smaller one. Some bongs have 18mm ones, and the drop in diffusers for that, are actualy a little more expensive.
I thought about it, and realized that my bong is actualy really nice, and that upgrading to a RooR or whatever, would be nice, but it would really be splitting hairs at that point. So if your gunna get a Roor, i say its a good investment, but theres alot of other glass out there, thats also very nice.
But I really do wish that I had a Roor, or whatever, but anyway.

So yeah, about $300 for all that.
