My mom had an anerysm in January. My brother picked her up from the hospital and on the ride home got rear-ended by a drunk driver. Brother, Sis-in-law, Nephew have MINOR if any whiplash, but 2 weeks later mom's "dura" became detached and she had to go back in for 2nd surgery. NOW - over 2 months later her face is like a grapefruit, she's leaking spinal fluid through her nose and an X-Ray shows infected bone tissue and NECROTIC bone tissue of the bone around her eyeballs. Brother calls me yesterday at ... Christ 2 am 12 am ... I dunno - I was up all night. She's got to have her skull opened up AGAIN and they scrape the infection out "put a plate in." Well, surgery didn't happen yesterday as the Neoro's were too busy ... today they operate. They took t out the BONE AND FOREHEAD! But, can't put a plate in - I'm told it's a plastic plate now they use and she'll "about the same". But - no plate today - she's got skin covering brain and a freaking HOCKEY GOALIE'S MASK FOR SIX - YES SIX FUCKING months before they can put the plate in! Regardless of the car wreck - someone - somewhere SCREWED UP! I don't want money, but, I'm not even sure my mom should get money other than surgical costs/hospital costs - but someone fucked up, I know it! Anurysem surgery is really just a minor surgery now - the 2nd surgery w/the dura detachment - I THINK she should have been agressively treated with antibiotics. But, now she has BONE INFECTION OF THE SKULL! Don't tell me that was from the car wreck! The Docs Screwed up major and she's now got half her face bone cut - a fucking hocky goalie's mask on for 6 months and THEN they'll put the plastic "framing" (nice euphamism for a plate) in her FACE!
