Where in nw do you live? When I was married, I lived in Frederic, also lived in Luck and St Croix Falls. Now I'm in the cities...
i agree with Asparagus, i still havent met another vegatarian, or someone else who doesnt openly oppose the war for oil. It is kinda depressing, but hey I enjoy being diffferent
I live in Solon Springs. I have met a couple of good people that share my political views, and there are quite a few activists in the duluth area. I know there must be vegetarians around, they sell vegan cheese, and soymilk at the co-ops, and even some of the supermarkets. Its a trend that is rapidly spreading, organic produce is popping up everywhere. Its the hundredth monkey theory. The movement is gaining momentum, and things are bound to change in the near future. Is anyone else experiencing this shift in the energy?
Yeah, it can be hard to find other vegetarians, war-opposers, environmentalists, etc, but they are out there. If you go to college, you'll come across them more readily I think. I'm in WI too. You can be part of the movement though. I've influenced quite a few people, not by badgering them (no pun intended, Badger State, ha ha), but just by them asking questions about vegetarianism or the environment or the war for example. It's a slow process, but we'll catch up eventually I think. Just talk about it, most people don't even consider other options until they hear about them or see someone they know living differently. Wisconsin has its perks though too, I think the countryside is beautiful and the people are friendly. There are a lot of hard working people here. The lovely rolling hills of the southwest, Madison is a cool city, the unique and wonderful Door County, and of course the pristine and gorgeous Northwoods. Some famous WI folks: Houdini, John Muir, Laura Ingalls, and Frank Lloyd Wright. Peace, fellow Wisconsinites!!
Wow you guys live in the wrong part of wisconsin the madison area is the most liberal place I have ever lived.
Im not from wisconsin... but i go there alot... like you soulrebel... i live only 30min from LaCrosse... i dunno about the BRF area... but lacrosse seems pretty liberal.. you ever make it to Indian Weavings or Deafear or Katmandu? great stores i tell ya.. their Co-Op is awesome too... i drive up there just to go there alot... our Co-Op dont have as much of a selection as the LaCrosse one.... so are you gonna be goin to Campout Roots Festival since you're right by BRF? any other fests you make it to? peace
