okay I managed to drive myself crazy converting my avi movies into mpeg format but I did. The problem is I'm burning a season and I'm only able to fit 3 (approx. 30 min.) episodes on one DVD. Is there anything I can do to maybe compress them to fit more? or am I screwed

    -Thanks a mil! :)

What software are you using to burn them?
    What size are the files?

I'm using "Xilisoft Video Converter" to convert and I'm using "Ulead Videostudio 9" to burn them. On average, the size of one episode (as an mpeg) is (depending on it's length) usually around 200 to 250 MB and when it's an Avi it can be anywhere from 50 MB to around 150 MB

Your trying to burn to a DV-R right not a CD-R right? You do have a dvd burner right? Dont want to insult here but I'm trying to get a better understanding of what your attempting becuse theres a big difference between a V-CD and DV-R

Ok just had to establish it wasnt the standard ID-10-T error... Perhaps its your software? Sorry mate, not a lot doing with the DVD burners as I cant afford one.... You should be able to fit more than that on there (obviouslly) but somethings missing... Id run through some configuration settings and see if anythings out of place

The file sizes are okay. It should burn well too.
I'm at a loss because I use Nero to burn. As you know,
you should have 4.7 Gig useable.

yeah I use 4.7 gig DVD+R's. It must be, because I would use other mpegs around the same size and I can cram a load of them on, could it be the audio of the series maybe? Does the fact that it's a cartoon have anything to do with it? I doubt it though, I'll tinker around with it and see what happens.

Yeah I got menus and all that jazz and I can fit quite a bit on a dvd but when it starts burning it freezes right in the middle of transcoding the first episode :(
