i dont go barefoot as much as i would like to but i do wear sandels more than not. ever since i started wearing CHACOS i have never even tried on another type of sandel- they are almost better that going barefoot in my opinion!!! what do you guys/gals do when it come to sandels? -cheers
I say sandals can sorroff! Ok, they leave your toes on display, but really they're just shoes, from my point of view. The cover up the soles of your feet and don't let the air circulate properly. So in my case that means my feet still get hot, sweaty and smelly. It's the soles that get warm and sweaty on your feet, just as it's the palms of your hands that sweat. On the OTHER hand, as far as keeping your feet away from potential hazards, sandals do no such thing. they're not going to stop you getting trodden on, they normally are a big hindrance to manoeverability - ever tried to run in flip flops? The strappy sort dig into your feet or rub against them, it's not pleasant. On top of all that I don't really like the look of sandals of any kind. Just as I don't really like the look of heels on girls. Bare feet are best in all departments really.
i agree that wearing sandels is nothing like going barefoot- i was only asking what you wore if you had to go with sandels...
OMFG i got my chacos last year at june and the only time i dont wear them is when it is to cold to. they are soooo great especially if you do alot of hiking and rafting i give them a 100000% satisfaction rate
in the summer here it's too damn hot to go barefoot, the bottoms of my feet burn and blister when I do for too long, but all spring fall and some of winter I go barefoot. anyway though, as far as sandals go, I have a pair of tevas (awsome for hiking) and a pair or birks (great for long walks, like around the city or in the campground) and then I have some super cheap rubber flip flops from old navy, which are my favorite cause I've had them so long they're real thin and flat, so they protect my feet from the heat of the ground, but I can still feel it beneath my feet. really though, the reason I go barefoot (aside from obvious comfort reasons) I love the feel of our mother earth under my feet, it's really comforting and keeps me centered and grounded.
My summer shoes of choice are flip flops, I have other sandals too but they just aren't as cool. Of course I'd love to go barefoot all summer, but as that's impossible flip flops will have to do. I've a very nice broken in pair.
I wore my Tevas to work today. Of course, I'd rather be barefoot, but that's not an option according to my boss, and flip flops are deemed "inappropriate." So, it's either shoes or Tevas, and since Tevas let me keep my toes cool, I chose them. Of course, they do make my feet sweat on the soles, but that's not entirely bad--when I took them off at the end of the day and walked across the parking lot to my car barefoot, my soles got extra-black.
