10 or 1,000,000?

If you had to choose between having 10 people very close to you killed or 1,000,000 people you don't know killed, which would you choose?

If it were up to me id say fuckem all, everyone, way more than 10k let the chips fall as they may, id survive, ive no doubts on this one.

 

If I got to pick the 1,000,000 it'd be a no brainer. HIV+ Carriers. Call me sick but we dont have a cure and thats the only surefire way to get rid of it. That is if only one million were positive. That or those asians who cheat on CS:S... or religious extremists... Fuck theres a lot of people Id kill... Do I only get a million?

It didn't take long for this thread to descend to the level of Hatred..

The original poster was more curious as whether mathemitics or personal emotional gain would rule our decision.

 

A) I am calm Hiker. I just curse too much. Sorry for the miscommunication.

B) Theres no hostillity in my words, just calm, if a little sick, logic.

C) I took the mathmatics and emotion right out of the problem and instantly worked it into a -searching for the word here- selective? decision that would benifit all humanity. There are people in this world we could do without. And in a choice between losing 10 people I love or 1-100 million people that dont mean shit to this world... aint really a choice at all.

D) The contribution to the nation... That flame war is for another thread my friend =P

Not knowing if they're disease carriers (How can you select these people for extermination????), rapists, scientists or active promoters of peace should only make this a more interesting debate. Would you sacrifice potential over your own heartache..

 

See thats tricky.... If its a lottery system then who knows. But I dont know 1,000,000 disease carriers, rapists, murders etc so in a TECHNICAL sense, I could still pick them based on the fact that I dont know them. Or, kill 1,000,000 deathrow and lifer inmates... free up some damn room in our already overcrowded prisions
