Vertical Labret

I LOVE this piercing so much, and I'm hoping to get it when I finish school for the summer.. except I can't find that much info on it, I've read some things on bmezine, but they all seem to contradict each other and stuff.

Anyone here have that piercing? I can't find anything about healing time etc because it's not like most oral piercings because it doesn't actually go innn your mouth..

Any info/opinions on it would be apreciated!

i think you can assume that it will take the same amount of healing time/same type of aftercare as any lip piercing... it will probably be really hard to eat for a while, but that's the case with all oral piercings. i'd say just treat it carefully as if it was a lip piercing, i can't imagine there's much difference, although it certainly looks like it would be REALLY easy to snag on shirts, towels, etc etc.

very nice piercing though, i like the first picture's angle and depth much more than the second.

I think it will be pretty on you....your lips are great.

 

they take a lot longer to heal than a standard lip piercing. while it isnt a surface piercing by any means, they still arent against a flat plane, which can complicate things. also, a lot of the reason why lip piercings heal so quickly is because theyre oral, but this isnt. also, the way your lip moves, the exits will be moving away/towards each other when you talk and smile. i say go for it, but it wont be as easy to heal as a standard lip piercing.

that makes a alot of sense... yeah, i can imagine any kind of lip tension being pretty annoying.

SapphireSerenity, teehee I just looked at your pictures and we totally do =D. Mine changes colour a lot.. it's been black for about 4 months and that's the longest I've gone without something drastic hehe.
