About becoming a vegetarian. A couple years back i was a vegetarian until my Bf (at the time) literally shoved a hamburger into my mouth and forced me to eat it. I spit it out automatically but he just shoved it in my mouth again. so i incorporated meat back into my meals. But now i want to take the steps to being avegetarian and exclude animal products. If you would like to give any input or advice i would appreciate it.

Dang, if I was vegetarian and someone tried to stuff a burger down my mouth...that friendship/relationship sure wouldn't last long with them!

I believe that your situation constitutes as abuse. Not because it was meat but because he was using force and shoving something in your mouth against your will. That's pretty messed up. I hope you never speak to him again.

Anyhow, congrats on wanting to go veg again!
I would suggest learning basic cooking techniques. You will enjoy vegetarian food a LOT more if you know how to cook (macaroni and cheese, soup, etc doesn't really count as cooking), rather than feeling you have to resort to the salad bar or a baked potato every time you go out. Personally I love to cook.
See if you can find a local vegetarian network to find someone to help you. Meetup.com is a good one to look at or just google "(your city) vegetarian" or something.

Educate yourself on factory farming and basic nutrition. Some people say vitamins are for people who eat poorly but I do not feel that way. I look at vitamins as insurance. Also I am vegan so I take a b-12 anyway, so I just got a multi vitamin. It costs me like $12/month.
It is best to have some sort of support when you are transitioning, so if no one is there, just post some more here! I have been vegetarian for about 6 years, vegan for 3. I might be able to answer a question you have. If not, I am sure someone here can!

    Welcome to the "family"

Congrats for going back to veg! I would advise you to buy some vegetarian cookbooks and try your hand at making delicious cruelty free meals. And by the way, the next time anyone tries to make you eat meat, tell them to 'piss off'. It's your choice what you eat, not your bf's or anyone else's for that matter.

    My tips for you...
Learning how to cook is definately something you should do, especially if you want to be a long-term vegetarian. You will not last if "mac 'n' cheese" or ramen noodles are a dietary staple.

Don't be afraid to try ethnic restaurants, a lot of times they have a good vegetarian menu.
