how about we just dont drink pop at all? it's not healthy in any way, and certainly not an industry worth supporting.
i whole-heartedly agree. im just letting people know because coca-cola, as a company through their history, is much more tainted than pepsi.
Why don't we let people burn fossil fuels until we run out? As long as we're getting where we have to go, who cares? The point is, if Pepsi or any other company (i.e. Coca Cola) were treating their employees badly, or were mismanaging their corporation, those are grounds for a boycott...because the consumers are the only people that can provide checks and balances to private companies.
You know what, we are going to burn fossil fuels until there is none left, there is nothing anyone can do about it, but if a company is treating its employees badly, its up to the employees to strike, they are the ones who will get something done.
Oh just so the company can hire scabs? Consumers are the only ones that can control what private companies do. If no one bought their products, they wouldn't stay open.
Its pretty hard to strike when they're killing your union reps. But really, what they buy is the only way consumers can have any effect on a true market system. Which is why I always buy my beer at Government owned liquor stores (they're unionized).
I'm not a union member...and I don't necessarily believe unions are good for our economy. (They are in theory, but not really in practice.) My point is, workers have no effect on industries they work for because there are always other people out there that WILL do the job. That's why consumers are the only people that can have an effect on a company...If you get enough people to boycott...changes will have to be made or the industry will not survive.
actually unions do have an effect on the companies they work for especially concerning treatment of workers, pay, holidays, insurance and many many other aspects. if they strike there is no one to work. i come from a union family and i guarantee no one where we are from is crossing a picket line they will first of all never get past the picketers.(a large group of older pissed of hard working women and men) second they are gone the instant the a contract is signed. United Steal Workers is a great example of a union that works. there is also a union that is doing great now the meatpackers union. there is a great book i read about the meatpacker union's struggle can't remember the name something like stepping out of the line. i do have one question though, why would unions not be good for the economy. i just want to know why you think this not picking or anything just asking for information. love
i feel like shit after drinking even just a glass of a soda drink anyway.... boycott all you want but the crap about 'if you're a hippy you should do this' is retarded.
There's a commercial for Vault (some kinda soda) and it has this farmer out in a field making a scarecrow and then the narrator is like "why stop at crows, why not foxes...something.....hippies" and then this robotic scarecrow chases these hippies out of this farmer's field is this the commercial ur talking about? yeah i was kinda pissed when i saw it, but i giggled a little bit
