okay, I am not familiar with these things AT ALL. I have a new computer (i got it a few months ago) and it came with Windows xp and all kinds of stuff already in it. Well my friend's boyfriend who is really good with computers, decided to install Fedora Core 5 the other day and I dont have anything I had with windows! I dont get it. He says its way better than windows but as far as I can tell, it sucks! Does anyone know anything about it? Have I made a mistake? Why wont the same programs work like they did in windows? for example, flash doesnt work, and I had like poker and stuff on there and he downloaded them and they wont open and weird things like that. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
Linux is much better than Windows, but it is a bit more difficult to set up and you have to understand that it's not the same operating system. So of course, you can't just install the same programs on it. Anyway, I'd suggest installing Ubuntu instead. It's very similar to Fedora, but has an easier way of installing software and most importantly, very helpful support forums.
