I have definitely seen the worst of my friends while they were on "opiates". From slamming heroin, oxycontin, overdosing, going into commas, going to jail,ect... the list goes on forever, but the newest thing that will help ANYONE who is trying to quit, and I'd highly recommend it, is this: there is a chip available that will block all opiates from having any effect on you. It is done by your doctor, in his office. No major surgery, just a small implant in your hip/butt. It saved my best friends life and it could save yours too. I am down with almost any and all drugs when taken correctly, but I have never seen anything positive come from heroin/oxy's. In fact out of everyone I have known that has passed away, I'd say 80% of their deaths were linked to heroin. Not somehting I want to keep happening! I can get more info on this if anyone is serious about quitting. I will post a link here soon! Peace*:..
IBogaine treatment is probably like a 99% guarentee but its very expensive. Maybe other psychedelics would help
The Naltrexone implant definitely keeps the patient from getting high, but they still feel like shit for months after the detox. Some patients get so desperate, they cut themselves open to extract the implant. I'm still surprised that many addicts are completely unaware of the very best detox option (for most people). It's buprenorphine, aka suboxone. Since this treatment option is rather new (Suboxone entered the U.S. market in 2003), doctors commonly make all sorts of serious mistakes, so it's best for any potential sub patient to get educated about this medication, and not rely on the M.D. to do his/her job properly. http://www.naabt.org/education/what_bt_like.cfm For anyone who formed an opiate habit due to depression, you really need to read this: http://www.prohibitionkills.blogspot.com
