Well, now he's given his speech, what they said had to be the "speech of his life," and the convention has had it's finale. So, what are our thoughts on it? Did he present a relevant case for change? Is he someone who can follow through? Are we only relying on the "anyone but Bush" philosophy still, or is this a candidate to be proud of?

    Share your opinions, please! :)

It was predictable, as they all are.

I am not usually fazed much by political campaign speeches. They always say a lot without saying much at all, while making everything sound like we'd be living in some sort of utopia if we elected them into office.

Frankly, I don't care for the two corporate-owned, corporate-ruled parties known as Democrat and Republican, let alone get excited over them as so many people apparantly do.

Ha, I admit I'm one of those who gets excited over these things, and carried away by the speeches and moved by their emotional videos and speeches of children. Then I listen to the republican comments of the guys interviewd by OPB, and the economist's analysis, and I'm brought back down to earth. It's obviously never as good as it seems.

But I still have faith that Kerry is a president that would atleast have integrity as a priority, and who will work WITH the world instead of against it.

OK, so let's step back a minute and analyze this.

Emotional videos and speeches about children?

Do you really buy into all that talk? It's all a big show, really. They WANT you to buy into it.

I mean, if I wanted to be the most powerful man in America, I too could say how much I care about the children and the impoverished to win people over.

Then I'd go back to my multi-million dollar mansion and plot my plan to rule the world (I mean, the country).

The Dems are no better than the Reps, but that's just the way I see it.

I know. Hence my statement, after a minute I get brought back down to earth. I realize it's propaganda that you have to sift through in order to find what's really being said, not just how they're trying to make you feel.

But while I realize there are many problems with the Democratic party, I still say I'd rather have one in office than a republican.

the best speech in the whole convention was Clinton. Whatever we may think of him, he is a powerful and charismatic speaker.

I agree, of course it is propoganda. That's what has to be done I suppose. If the politicians were honest with us no one would vote for anybody....what a concept.

Regardless, ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN BUSH! It will be interesting to see what he has to say. Can't wait for the debate.

We all in the same boat brother. You rock it too far to the right you fall in the waddah, rock it too far to the left you fall in the same waddah, and it's just as wet on both sides.

I really like Kerry, although I don't like him to win the elections. It's much better to let Bush win 'em, so next elections Hillary Clinton can be the candidate. She is such a strong woman, I'm a huge fan of her. So I think it's the best idea to let this total idiot called Bush annoy the world for another four years. After that the US will have the best president imaginable!

I think Kerry gave a great speech. I really want him to win.

We’ve got to stop Bush before he gets us into another war or completly ruins our echonomy. As it is- it’s going to take years to repair the damage Bush has already done.

Even if Kerry wins- he will need a majority of congress to move ahead. At least he’ll have the power of the veto.
