Actually, it is possible but it would require two seperate grow rooms A friend had his ballasts working 12 hours for one grow and an other 12 hours on the second adjacent grow. Don't ask me how he wired it all up, I don't know.
I expect he meant 2 lamps at once, but yes you could run 2 lamps alternately. I've seen digital ballasts that will run on 2 cycles and will even run with either MH or HPS bulbs.
To run two lamps you need a dual or digital ballast. Check out http://www.progrow.co.uk/acatalog/hid_systems.html They have some good dual lights with air cooling. There certainly out of my price range but may consider a standard digital ballast in the near future.
Buffoonman, I think you made a mistake. The link you provided is to a dual ballast that can run with EITHER a HPS OR a MH lamp. Not both at the same time, which is what this thread is inquiring about.
Might be mistaken but one of the last ballasts seem to be connected to two reflectors. Although it was £500.
Just looked at the site again check out the Aurora Gemini systems they say they run two reflectors with one plug. The best one is the Aurora Gemini jet stream 1000W two reflectors with air cooling at £530. Don't think i will be buying one at that price just yet.
Duh! Stoopit me! I clicked on the link but I didn't scroll down, I thought that what I saw on the top of the page, that one single item was all there was.
