Dutch Authorities Ignore Racist Websites: Activist

THE HAGUE, April 2, 2006 (IslamOnline.net) – The Dutch ministries of justice and interior have failed to live up to their responsibilities and continue to turn a blind eye to mushrooming racist websites in the Netherlands, a Dutch rights activist has charged.

Marco Hughes, director of the Racism Monitoring Center (MDI), said minorities in the European country continue to be showered with online racist, frightening and hatred-inciting expressions.
​

"We have filed 18 lawsuits over the past three years (against racist websites), but the appropriate authorities did not move a finger," he said in a press release, a copy of which was obtained by IslamOnline.net on Saturday, April 2.
​

The latest MDI legal action came on Friday, March 31, when Hughes resorted anew to litigation in a bid to take the racist slurs offline.
​

He named some of the offensive websites like Holland Hardcore, which calls for setting fire to mosques and Islamic schools in the country let alone countless racist slurs.
​

Other minorities like Jews are not spared racist insults like "who are more dangerous: Muslims or Jews?
​

The site is also championing a "white revolution" to expel all foreigners and abort non-white pregnant women on the grounds that they cannot raise their children properly.

Muslim Complaints

Hughes said the center received a torrent of complaints in February from Muslims after right-wing MP Geert Wilders posted cartoons lampooning Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on his homepage.
​

Last September, Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten ran 12 caricatures including portrayals of the Prophet wearing a bomb-shaped turban and another showing him as a knife-wielding nomad flanked by shrouded women.
​

Supporters of controversial Somali-born MP Ayaan Hirsi, who wrote the scripts of two documentaries on the alleged mistreatment of women under Islam, also published online shirts poking fun at the Prophet.
​

The MDI asserted that authorities failed to take action about the Muslim complaints.
​

Islamophobia gained momentum in the Netherlands after the November 2004 killing of director Theo van Gogh by a Dutch-Moroccan after directing the first offensive film of Hirsi.
​

Europe’s main rights and democracy watchdog, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), expressed concern in May last year at the increasing Dutch intolerance towards the one-million Muslim minority and the "climate of fear" under which the minority was living.

Dereliction of Duty

The authorities inaction on racist websites also drew fire from the ruling Christian Democrats (CDA) and the opposition Labour party.
​

CDA Member Mirjam Sterk and Labour's Aleid Wolfsen have submitted an interpellation over the failure to stand up to the worrying phenomenon.
​

Other MPs have blasted as unacceptable the justice ministry's argument that it can not keep pace with the rapid Internet development.
​

The Dutch parliament has adopted over the past few years a number of laws to combat extremism and online hatred.
​

A government report warned last year that the scale of racism and extremism are worryingly increasing among right-wing "skinhead" youths and posing major threats to Dutch national security.
​

The report warned that such radical right-wing youth groups are more dangerous on society than Muslim extremists.

I think so,​

 

I don't see why everyone must keep poking fun at muslims. They are only permitted by Allah to kill in self defence, or when someone has wronged them first. They obviously do not respond to criticism and being made fun of very well. Why don't people just understand the giant fact that if a muslim attacks first he does not join allah in paradise when he dies. Why still must the west rag on them? Its like that one fat kid that always gets picked on then snaps and kills 2 kids. Id say try dropping out of Iraq, and just forcing them to sign something that would not allow any other muslim nation to back palestine in a fight vs Israel, and make Israel sign on the same document they will not ask for more land after they have a final war with only palestine. Then if anyone breaks it launch nukes on everyone? Would you agree thats a fair ultimatum Cat Stevens?
As for the Dutch their super liberal, to the point where htey can have racist conservative Ideas freely spoken. Similar to san Franciso, where its so liberal they can even have Michael Savage an ultra-conservative on the radio broadcast.

The prophet said (PBUH): the biggest of Al-Kabair (the greatest sins) are: (1) To join others as partners in worship with Allah, (2) to murder a human being, (3) to be undutiful to one's parents (4) and to make a false statement or said to give a false witness.​

Quraan: anyone who murders any person who had not committed murder or mischief in the land, it shall be as if he murdered all the people. And anyone who spares a life, it shall be as if he spared the lives of all the people. Our messengers went to them with clear proofs and revelations, but most of them, after all this, are still transgressing. ​

I want them to live in one land, if the name of the country [Israel or palestine] is the problem, well, choose other name, but one name for one country, one constitution, I am totally against nuke (nuclear weapons) other innocent will be harmed too, our earth =( nuclear weapons should be banned everywhere. cat if you read my sig you will see that the person whose name your using has spoken hatred of salman rushdie , in fact he said he would like to see him burnt alive for insulting mohammed .

shouldnt he be jailed and if you want these websites closed down, why do you have these big pictures of a man with so much hatred that he would like to watch a author burnt to death .

 

I mean, that a jewish Nation cannot treat a non-jew as equals in society. Their will be violence, just like the peace talks that end being worthless. I suggest that if Israel and the muslims of Palestine, have a problem they should just settle it between themselves. In an equal battle. I know that is more fantasy than truth, but Id like to see it. I mean when you see a map of Muslim land in the mid east. Israel is very minute. I don't know, Palestine should just leave respectfully yet didn't allah say death is better than inferiority. It is easy to see that these people don't want to leave their home, but Israel should offer them means, and buy their homes and land perhaps. Not just kick them out to be refugees. Yet if this conflict stops it will be a major stop in the transgression into the Muslim world by the west.

 

If the Netherlands is dense enough to pass misguided thought-crime laws, then they deserve whatever hassle they receive.

well is the purpose of the thread to have double standards, its ok to hate people and drive them into hiding if your muslim ? but not if your non muslim dutch

BTW: the goal of posting this thread wasn't only to show the DS, there are other things too, what I see in you, that you like to post whatever you think is barbaric in islam but you don't do that to other religions, I believe there are Good people and bad people everywhere, whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims, but what I find here that most people post about bad Muslims, so I will make a balance here

you guys are very funny you support a man who wants to see a author burnt alive, and you have the cheek to say I am the one full of hatred .

to anyone reading this it just shows what islam has done to your minds, white is black, peace is war to you guys ....you claim to want peace and your whole fake religion calls itself the religion of peace, but all it teaches is war and oppression and was founded by a mass murderer.
