I wanna visit Portugal but... Have you any ideas?

Hi guys! I wanna stay in Portugal for at least a month and really use the language (I've been learning it for a year already), but the problem is I need visa which means previous accommodation arrangement and a really good reason for going! hmm... not bad, a? so, if you have some idea, please help! and have in mind that i don't have the 5.809.001.000 dollars a week for fancy language schools or 6-star hotels. something more reasonable, you know... like: au-pear programmes, really cheap language schools, scholarships - dreaming, aint I - or anything else. thank you! and please reply! I live in the Algarve and I was doing a course in Portuguese at the local Univeristy for free. There are jobs here (not v. well paid) and you can find cheap accommodation if you know where to look...........
