How and/or when (under what circumstances) would you try to get a family member out of a cult?

    Is it possible?
    Is it futile?
Do some people just have some weird need to be in a cult?

That's a tough question. I mean, christianity started out with the label of a cult. But now it's a major world religion. i suppose i would get a family member out if they were simply being exploited by the leader of the cult. How would be tricky. I'd probly try to let my family member figure it out for themselves, by me showing them evidence.

well it would depend if it was a family member I liked, if I liked them then yes I would most likely kidnap them and try to de-programme them
not sure how I would go about the de programming ...

some sort of physical torture involving people dressed up as bears beating the poor programmed sap with wet fish might be a start, maybe mixed in with strange drugs.... is the only thing thats come to mind so far ..

there are a number of sites that deal with the whole de-programming thing after trying the bears and wet fish approach ....if that didnt work I would look there
