magazine beads.....

anyone ever make these?

you take a magazine page.....cut or rip a triangle out from top to bottom...wet the whole piece with a glue, watered down elmer's works, and then place a little coffee straw at the widest end of the triangle....and sort of roll it up......once it dries, remove the straw...and there you have it, a magazine bead.....you can use any kind of paper with these...not just magazines.....

I wanna try that! But I'll have to use a regular straw..I don't have any others.

 

yeah, i've made those before. i took a jewelry making class at school last year and that was our first assignment.

 

you can use a regular straw but the hole of your bead will be the same size as the hole in the straw.....that's all.....

 

hehe....i used to make those as a kid. they were fun! you can paint 'em up and put glitter on them and stuff. i should make some.....

 

yeah man i started making them when i was six. hahah i still make them and all my friends love them. they made me make them all a necklace. it usually happens at like 3 or 4 in the morning when i go bored out of my mind or i wake up from a nightmare or something. lol.

 

yeah, i made some a couple of months ago. i thought my son would have fun doing it with me, but he was *so* not into it at all. LOL
