Whenever I've bleached my hair, I've just gone to a women's beauty supply shop. They have a blue bleaching powder that you mix with this special chemical. It only cost about 10 bucks if I recall

i suggest doing it professionally since they will know how to help treat your hair since bleach is so damaging.

i bleached my hair to get the red dye out and now my hairstylist said I cant dye my hair til the other stuff grows out.

Bleaching is the worst thing you can do to your hair. A couple of years ago I bleached my hair and it started to fall out. Also it strips your hair of all it's natural oils and makes it dry and brittle. Also more susceptible to split ends.

    That's just my 2 cents...

aaha, yeah, I had mine professionally bleached a few weeks ago because I had like three years worth of red dye to get stripped out, eep!

Make sure you have a really good conditioning treatment for afterwards, like a hot oil treatment. Probably not the exact same day taht you did the bleaching, but a day or two afterwards would be best, to rehydrate it. Mine wasn't all that dry to be honest with you, but it was professionally done and my conditioner and shampoo are ultra-hydrating all on their own

kinda random but i heard if you put lemon juice on your hair and lie in the sun for an afternoon it lightens your hair naturally! sorry, not much help if you want something more noticeable : )

if you do lemon juice enough, its noticeable. not sure how good it is for your hair though.

Yeah I'd say go somewhere and pay a lot of money and get it done professionally (that way you're sure your hair isn't suffering too much).. Or buy a kit.. Don't use anything else really, you don't want your hair to fall out most likely. And only do it once in a long while, if you need to bleach more wait at least a week.

If you can't afford the professional route, I just bought that Revlon Frost and Glow. It was the only thing that has never turned my hair orange or left leapord spots all over my head. Bleaching is never good for your hair, though. But yeah, if you wanna do it, use that stuff, it works wonders, and it was only about $10-$12 (Canadian).

I don't understand why people have issues with conventional hair bleaches. My hair is always fine afterward and it makes dying over it easier.
