Granted, 95% of the time I hate doing chores but they nonetheless need to be done. Although, I'm finding myself loving to do laundry. That's right, I said it. There's just something meditative of listening to the machine wash its cycles... very relaxing.
while i don't like the repetitiveness of them and of the need for them, i prefer doing them to living with the resault of their not being done, even if that doesn't bother anyone else. so i'm, it seems, perpetualy doing dishes, glad we've got a dishwasher machine, and laundry, about once a week, and again glad we have our own washer and dryer. vacuming gets done less often then it probably ought, but then neither of us are generaly all that messy. this is a good thing. as we mature we tend to begin to realize it's a hell of a lot easier to avoid making messess that it is to have to clean them up. cooking i don't think of as a chore but a creative outlet. although i don't always feel inthused to cook inventively when i'm wrapped up in thinking about what i'm saying and going to say on some forum on the net or inagineering what i'm making or going to be making pictures of, usualy on the computer also. fortunately cooking is something we both do and take turns doing, even if she is a bit less immaginative about it then i am. i can think of lots of things i'd rather be doing then anything that is a repetitive task, that includes shaving my chin, which i wouldn't except that i seem to be almost alergic to my own hair, which never wants to grow as long as i'd like it to look anyway. but laundry and dishes somebody has to do anyway and i seem to be the only one interested in doing them so it's up to me if i want them to get done and done right. which is after all only fair since it's HER income that pays the rent and buys the groceries. =^^= .../\...
scrubbing the bathtub, but only if i get to soak in it ps, booga, do you want to come over and wash my walls? pretty please? LOL
I have to say laundry or dusting and yard work. I loathe vaccuming and dishes and cleaning the bathroom.
I like to sweep really dirty floors. I don't know why. I hate washing the dishes, especially when there are knives with peanut butter on them. Does anyone else find the smell of wet peanut better really fucking nasty? Plus I'm afraid of knives, not butter knives but the sharp ones, and I'm afraid that if I wash the dished I'll grab the blade of one and cut my hand open. I freaking hate knives :&
Normally after I use peanut butter I wipe my knife before putting it in the dishwasher. It's the one food that will stick and won't entirely come off through washing. I also will wipe the remains on a dog biscuit for my dog. She loves peanut butter!
Hence the nickname peanuts? I kid, anywho I hate cleaning peanut butter off my knife, yuck. I try to wipe it off. Oh and I hate when there is oatmeal in my bowl or mayonaise on a knife. I too like to sweep. But only small areas, I love to mop too.
Sometimes it's laundry and sometimes it's washing dishes. However, I cleaned the bathroom and I found it oddly satisfying. The bathroom looked so much better, and I felt a real sense of accomplishment.
anything to do with cleaning the bathroom usually has me putting on the hazmat suit and holding my breathe for long periods of time. god, i hate bathrooms.
Well cerridwen, you can come do all of my laundry because I've got a ton of it to do and I hate doing laundry. I do it, but I never like it! I would have to say one of my favorite household chores is cooking and baking, then second is sweeping my hardword floors which I have to do everyday to keep them looking good. I also love yard work, pulling weeds, getting the soil ready for planting. I find it so incredibly relaxing to have my hands in the soil.
Cooking, Baking, sweeping/mopping, laundry, dusting and cleaning the bathroom. I absolutely hate doing dishes!
