There was a guy around here when I was in high school (he's dead now). He had a dilapidated old bar on the outskirts of town. He was famous for serving to minors. He would sell us pitchers of PBR for 4 bucks and say, "bring all your minor friends. I'll sell to them". The dude never got in any trouble, though there was rarely anyone out there. He was supposedly connected from up on high. He had pictures on the walls of himself with different Presidents. It was a cool place. You could spend an hour just looking at all the shit he had on his walls.

That dude definitely got me laid a few times, so I'll never bash PBR.

 

Oh, i'm proud to promote Pabst, i think its a good solid cheap beer, much better than Old Milwaukee or Milwaukees Best.

I simply pointed out that Clinton has more wars (All less-justified) than Bush has had. He bombed more countries also; look it up.

I actually think Gephart's record is pretty solid relatively. Unfortunately, he's not photogenic enough to get elected. It sucks that that matters in this country, but it does.

As for my woman or non-white statement, I most firmly stand by it.
The point is not that all whites are corrupt. It is that the entire system is corrupt. The fact that Presidents have to be white males is like a giant wink by the good old boys club that is Washinton politics. A wink that says, "sure, you can have equal rights on the surface, but when it comes to the real power, you'd better let us handle it, thank you very much".

Our society is horribly racist from the top on down. The sad thing is that most people have been conditioned to just accept it.

I wish Hilary had run for President. It would have been the greatest day in American history - at least since I've been alive.

I have to disagree with the idea of suffering for being white and male. I hear that idea a lot. The fact is that you are priveliged, even if you're not conscious of it. Ask any non-white person and they will tell you that you just don't get it.

For example (and this is just one of many) when you get pulled over by the cops, or sentenced harshly by a judge, would you ever have to wonder if it's because you're white?

 

Oprah or someone like her is what this country needs, man!!!
she's a woman, she's black, and she's already a billionaire.(no favors) she'd be the president with a book club!

I hate to say it, but the issue doesn't have anything to do with you. Your stories aren't relevant. The statistics speak for themselves. Study after study finds the same thing consistently - that racism and sexism are still a major force in many sectors of society today.
To so adamantly deny this proven fact serves only to perpetuate the problem.

I suspect that you have little idea what you're actually talking about. For example...do you know the difference between a refereed journal and a non-refereed one? It's a good way of determining how "scientific" a study is.
And no...skin tone or gender is not what makes you a racist, you're right.
But some of your statements suggest (and I suspect) that you probably are.

 

So you are claiming that the whole of scientific research is meaningless. I don't think that's a very effective argument. But I guess it's really the only argument you can have when your position goes in the face of all the research.
