by the way our animals are treated :( I get SICK at the unneccesary violence towards our earthly creatures.
I don't understand why more people don't care. What is the reason? Is it just because they don't know fully what is going on?
I just can't understand why this violence is ok with our government...

    YUCK!

The majority of people know whats going on, they really just don't care. The government... they get a lot of money for it, just like they do when supermarkets get the go ahead to pave over nature.
It's a shitty old world when people don't care, keep spreading the word though, because one person CAN make a difference.

nothing disgusts me more. it consumes me with every hamburger order i hear and every piece of meat and jug of milk i see......ever down pillow and every leather belt.
nothing is more frustrating then knowing that people really dont care and they are content with ignorance and violence so long as "their world" isn't effected. it depresses me like nothing else can.......

now i need to go give my dogs a hug and kiss................

Violence against people is ok with our govt (uh, war in Iraq....) and we live in a very species-ist society, so we can't even stop killing people...folks are not going to stop killing animals.
It really disgusts me that people don't realize what a horrible industry farmed animals are in. Oh Jesus, we just CAN'T give up our luxuries and make the world a better place. I just HAVE to have that fur coat and tht burger or I'll die!

I have found that vegetarianism and veganism actually was not giving up anything, it opened new doors for me and I do not regret it for a second.

We will just have to wait for and be part of a massive change. If you think daily of ALL the suffering, you will want to kill yourself, it's just so awful. Just remember that you are helping. Do what we can. If we all did what we could, the world would be dramatically diferent.
    Peace to you all

Elle- I like your signature about the animal adoption :)

People think ignorance is bliss. I am always saying things to people about vegetarianism and the environment and stuff and the sad fact is, most people do not give a shit and that's that.

They don't like you to talk about it and tell them about it either because it threatens to burst their bubble of ignorance regarding this matter. Its sad, but true.

I used to get really disgusted by all the killing, too. Well, I still do, but now instead of dwelling on all the negative, I think about how much better it is than it used to be. More veg*ns, more awareness, more organic, more cruelty-free products, etc. I found that by trying to do my best and assuming that others are doing their best, the world is a much better place. Sure, we have a long way to go before we can just use replicators to generate our food (geek!), but we've also come a long way from just ten years ago. :)

    WoooHooo!
    That's right.
JS Mill says that the person who has experienced *both* portions of a debate usually has the authority on the subject, when deciding between two "good"(or what many see as morally neutral) choices.
I really agree with a lot of the comments. I think that people honestly believe that there is no better alternative-that it is too hard for someone to stop eating meat/purchasing blindly/living indiscreetly, but it's like smoking-if you want to, you CAN stop!
Use your will. You were born to reason, you were born to will; use these things constructively!
Most people are asleep, as far as I can tell. They want to discuss the occasional political injustice committed against them at a microlevel, but don't want to talk with you, or themselves, about what is really going on, from macropolitics,to actual ethics, to consciousness.
    Tschüss

the way the animals are treated is really bad, but the most people don't care about that and take it as something natural, but it's not.me, I'm an optimist, and I believe that people will start to care about the life on our planet-their own health and the chance of living of the animals.Me, I made a step-after some days, I'll be a vegetarian from 6 mounths and I'll be happy if some of the people I know make a step too.
