Cooking with stems?

I've been saving up stems from really good krypie, you can see all kinds of trichomes all over the stems, so it might work. But what I want to know is, does anyone cook with stems? I was thinking about making some cannabutter, any suggestions?

 

I think you might need a lot of them, and would probably have to grind them into a powder. The taste might not be that great either.

I do have a lot. And grinding might work, but I dont really see why its necessary. As far as I know there are no cannabinoids inside the stems, just on the outside. How do you make stem tea? Tea tastes like shit though.

 

yea... no reason for the grinding.... but you will need probably one hell of a stem collection... at least.. at least a baggies worth.. if not more... your best bet for doin this with a small amount of butter is put a stick of butter in a pan... melt it... and add like 3-4 cups of water... add stems... bring to a boil and then simmer for 30min... what will happen is the THC that gets extacted from the stems will soak into the butter since THC is not water soluable(sp?).. then just pour into a bowl.. and put in refridge... the butter will settle at the top and harden.. remove and throw out water... ta da.. canna butter

 

Oh hell yeah, thanks man. I never knew about adding the water. And I have a shit load of stems, but it might not be enough I dunno.

A friend of mine makes these bomb peanut butter balls with stems. She saves them up and when she's got a collection she puts them in a pot with some butter and cooks them on low with the butter for thirty mintues. Not sure how she makes the balss, but that's how she prepares the base for anything she makes with stems. Let me know how things go

 

I'll post up the results for sure. But I might save some more first..
