the PLEASE HELP ME, I'M DESPERATE TO FIND/GIVE... thread

Ok, I've been wanting to start something like this for a while, hopefully it catches on. There are crafty things we all have in our closets or craft rooms/bins that have been there for a while, and even though they're of no use to us, it'd be a shame to throw them out because they'd do SOMEONE some good EVENTUALLY...

So, this is how it's going to work: Post in this thread a) what you're desperate to find, and/or b) what you're desperate to give. If you can help someone out, then pm them so they can give you their mailing address. In turn, search through the threads to see if someone may have already posted for what you're looking for OR what you're giving away. What's great about this is that the only cost to you is postage!

This is separate from the For Sale Or Trade forum and isn't meant to interfer with it. But, if it turns out that it ends up being a trade, then kudos for you. All this is meant to do is commit a few random acts of crafty goodness for those of us who are on the lookout for something crafty to help finish our projects.

 

duh for me, I forgot to add what I was looking for...

a) I'm desperate to find BUTTONS. My gramma had pickle jars of them that (believe it or not) I've used up all the ones I could for my crafts. If you or someone you know has jars of buttons, then empty some in a small box and mail them to me! Thanks!

b) What I'm desperate to part with are some 12" felt squares (bright pink, beige, gray, skin pink, black, white, deep purple, blue green and two orange) plus a handful of embroidery floss. If you're interested, then pm me with your FULL mailing address and they'll be in the mail for you the next day!

 

Im looking for some BIG buttons, like huge ones with spirals on them. prefurably wooden ones or some other natural material. These are for a coat i made myself abotu a month back and its been held up with a safety pin ffelt flower up to now

What i have to give away:

Loads of fabric scraps!! anyone who does patchwork and want some varying sizes of scraps sent let me know

about half a meter orf yellow net ribbon (really pretty with a slight wirre to it, its aboit half inch wide) and to go wit hit as this isnt much - a meter of yellow edging ribbon type thing with yellow pom poms hanging off of it. would look SOO cute along the bottom of a little girls skirt or something.

Some stitched tags used for decorating clothes with words on them "player" "bad man (x2) "bad girl" "champion" "all star" "check it out"not my thing at all they were given to me.

six small silver star studs. you push them through the fabric and then turn the little sharp bits in. they were bought for a custom order but i bought too many, dont think i'll be using them again.

A furry iron on patch of a star. this is SUPER cute, and i'm hesitant to give it away cos i wanna use it, but appliques like this arent my thing. Its a lilac purple colour with some green n pink dotty bits in the furr.. its about 2 inches across so its only a small one, but DAMN i wish i could think of a way to use it, ive had it about 2 years now.

 

What a nifty-thrifty idea


1.) I am always on the look out for yarn, yarn, and more yarn! I love any kind! Scraps, are great!

2.) I always have some decent fabric scraps of assorted colors and textures...if anyone needs that certain something...maybe I am just the one to help!!

5) flexible wire for wire wrapping or anything else
6) electric/heavy duty tape or any kind of sparkley fun tape

1) lots of glassblown pendants, some with shrooms inside etc
2) hemp necklaces
3) fabric of all kinds and scraps

oooh and wool, im always looking for wool


and gruvenmama theres a local shop near me that sells hemp fabric, lots of different types from corse canvasy feel stuff to soft silk like stuff if you want to get hold of some i could arange buying some for you or their website is www.thehempshop.co.uk if you email them they might be able to let you know of a closer suplyer. Bobbi the owner is lovely so im sure he will help you

Again, this is NOT A TRADE THREAD, although it's starting to sound like a 'get something for nothing' thread... kind of the idea but not wanting to sound so cheap.

i also havve a iron/sew on my little pony patch somewhere ive really wanted to use but never hada reason for if anyone wants that.

gruven i would trade but im too broke to buy any fabric at the moment. other wise id have loads for myself. im using recycled fabrics/gdonated fabrics for anything i make. But like i said check the store out and ask Bobbi if he might know anyewhere nearer to you. Hes a great guy and he has the shop because he loves he,p and beleives in it rather than being in it for the money which is sooo lovely to see

 

ok, another thing I'm desperate to find: Beer Coasters. You know, those cardboardy ones you find @ the bar... I've been pocketing a few whenever I go out with friends or for dinner, but since my time in restaurants and bars are minimal, so is my collection.

Even if you have one or two, any would be great for my collection. They're going as a gift for a friend of mine. Please pm me if you have any you want to send me. any coasters would be awesome!

 

i've been on the look out for them too to send to tarrabelle but i might be able to get a few beercoasters from work for you, its very rare we get them in though

 

i have to offer:

three kurta-like shirts (size medium)... one is red, one is black, and one is orange. i might have a green one as well tucked away somewhere, but it isn't in my closet at present.

i want:

white cotton long-sleeved shirt-lengthed kurtas (unisex). i'm a guy, so i don't want them too girly, but i am really REALLY trying to find like a white kurta top that is about long as a t-shirt, has long sleeves that end bell-shaped (the bigger the bells the better), and has a notch-top. i intend to tiedye them.

gypsy rose USED to have this exact shirt (L/S Cotton Mantra was how they described it) but it seems to be removed from their inventory, so if anyone can help me get one, that would be just amazing.
