you're doing a great thing. good luck. i'm planning something similar here, but untill august i have some personal issues
Thanks satirul but I'm not the one doing it someone else is. I'm not sure who's doing it or how they got started. I'm trying to find out more. Here's maybe an interesting story though. I was of course a teenager when SDS first existed in the sixties. It was a big deal. But by the time I got to college in 1969 it was already splintering and in my estimation too radical. The Weather Faction bombings, Revolutionary Youth Movements I and II and so forth. Because SDS had been so influential however I always wondered what happened to it. I was surprised someone didn't revive it or appropriate this name for at least website or something. The name has recognition value and a legacy. That kind of stuff is valuable. I kept looking on the internet for SDS -- always nothing. I thought of doing something with it myself... Then a couple weeks ago I attended a rally on the anniversary of the Iraq War and saw this newspaper talking about "members of SDS protesting" Clinton's visit to Pace University in NY state. So I looked again and there it is finally an SDS website! Looks like it must have started in December. I'm not the least bit surprised. It appears to comprise both old and new SDSers. One of the main persons at the SDS website is "sds" but I am not this person. Can't take credit where it's not due. Not that I'm promoting merit or hierarchy. No way. My own project is SES "Students For an Educational Society" as a vehicle for my own ideological enterprises obviously inspired by SDS maybe someday to be a website.
I signed up for it on my own like.. a month ago and never got informed that I was a member or anything. I'm kinda annoyed.
