My old computer made sounds like that. :D I've got no clue what it was. :D From what it says though maybe it's something with the power supply?

A continuous beep can indicate a problem with the Power supply, system board, or the keyboard.try to start the computer by disconecting the keyboard if it still makes a beeping sound maybe you have a mainboard problem

It could also be a problem with overheating. You can usually check that in the BIOS.

a person who doesn't know why their computer is making noises might not know what the BIOS is

Replace your power supply unit, and check ALL
    your other connections.

A loud alarm signals a problem, time to get someone that knows something about computers to take a look at it before it burns up. Overheating is usually the first cause a bad power supply second on the list, but the fan and power supply may both be bad. Time to take it to the shop.

I was called out to fix a server with this problem - what make of computer is it - Dell, IBM, what?
I suggest you look at the screen as you boot up the computer -
if its on quickboot then press F2 or escape
    look for warning messages
Its a process that takes a long time but if you knoiw how - go into the bios and see if you can disable the speaker
alternatively pull the wires off the board that go to a speaker
The long tone is sometimes indicative of a failing Hard drive - some newer systems have that feature and will alert you that the bearings are wearing down or that the surface of the drive is physically breaking up (flaking away)
There are other possible causes I suggest you look on the website of whoever manufactured the computer

    thanks for the welcome
I agree a person might not know what the bios is - but the step by step approach would be too long winded too explain in a forum. In my experience if you point people in the right direction they will normally fill in the blanks.
