its called rolling, because if you look at your eyes or someone elses closely your eyes actually "roll" or vibrate back and forth, and if youve never experienced this you havent experienced a real intense pill.

my dad who is 52 and was going 60 t0 70 dead shows a year in the early 70's asked me the same fucking question.

 

apart from the eyes thing it could also be because pills are round

 

or it could be the fact that it comes in and out. rooooollllling.

 

The last pills I bought came in a little plastic wrapped roll, the guy sold me them in a roll and I had to seperate them myself (they sort of snapped off each other like they were loosely connected, but designed to break)

 

I always thought it was named after the feeling. Rolling, smooth feeling.

Actually that was funny. I always thought it was "rolling" because the experience goes like a rollercoaster. You get spikes of it through the duration.
