I made one bronie yesterday and ate it. I did nothing to the bud except takeing out the stems and cutting it up. Then I just through it in witht the brownie mix. (small brownie = more or less of a gram)...

It worked and it made a really heavey and my freinds had to "crank me up" so i could move around. :p...

So heres the question... What does the butter method do? Does it make it more potent or is it a extraction method?

I think it only works with the butter method, I think you had the placebo effect

the butter method would extract more of the cannabinoids from the buds to the butter. any cannabinoids left in the buds in what you baked would not be digested.

It only works with the butter method man... you couldnt have been high, lol.

And Ursus, it doesnt kick in immediatly... you would have to eat one piece, wait an hour, eat another one if you wanted to get more stoned, then wait... you would be just as stoned as you were in the beginning because the high would have died down... thats just stupid to do.

Dumping grass into brownie mix and baking does work. Not very tasty or effective but it does get your stoned.

The butter method is superior because it extracts more good stuff from the herb. It also increases the variety of foods you can make. You don't need to limit yourself to foods that mask the taste of herb.

he's talking about one brownie. Now if you take a look about how much weed would be needed in that brownie to make him as stoned as he said he was... doesnt add up man

since the high from eating can last over 6 hours, seems to me that a person has a window of 6 hours to eat a brownie without returning to baseline

the "just toss in and mix" baking method does work... but it usually doesnt taste that great and wastes more bud than anything... you could have probably used half of what you threw in in butter and gotten the same effects.... SirTokesAlot... when consuming marijuana it seems to take less to catch a nice buzz than if smoked... figuring you burn off more THC with your lighter than you would slow cooking marijuana... or cooking it in butter at a low simmer

So its settled then... You can still "just toss in the weed" into the brownie mix. But its best to go through the butter method to get a greater yeild... :p

    This got me thinking;
    "placebo" high vs. "real" high

Why would anyone care if their high was real or placebo?

well, im not sure, because ive tried eating pot three times, and all three times nothing happened, I didn't even get a placebo high.

Its not a placebo high, if he tossed some weed in the brownie then baked it,the heat would have activated the THC but butter would probably extract more active chemicals than just baking.

thats what i recon eh in general with placebos, but the problem is that if you find out something is a placebo, it wont affect you anymore. so people dont want to come to the conclusion that it is a placebo or then they would be wasting their money therafter

"OK, let me look at your eyes......Nope, your not stoned, its all in your head."
"Damn, we smoked all those joints and you say that the high isn't real. What ever shall I do?"
"Well, I don't guarentee anything, but we might try smoking more."
    :D

I wish I woulda done that when I made some brownies (only had em once) i ate about half a batch, packed full of ganja  I was so out of it, could barely move, for 8-10 hours. It was awesome, but not so awesome at the same time. My sister could tell there was somethin up with me, I just laid on the couch all day, only getting up to get food.

I'd do it again tho, just not eat as much! :p
