From correspondents in RomeMarch 22, 2006 THE World Cup in Germany is set to become a battleground between fascists and Muslims, an Italian member of a new European neo-Nazi movement warned. In a statement published by Italian daily Repubblica, the member of AS Roma's notorious ultras hooligan group claims neo-Nazis across Europe met in Braunau in Austria to plan attacks against supporters from Islamic countries during the World Cup in Germany from June 9 to July 9. "We are united. For the first time we are talking and planning together, with the English, the Germans, the Dutch, the Spanish, everyone with the same objective. At the World Cup there will be a massacre," said the Italian ultra. "We will all be in Germany and there will be Turks, Algerians and Tunisians. The Turks, we can't stand them. In our country (Italy) there are not many, but in Germany, there are many of those guys there. They are Islamic terrorists. "We will attack them. They are all enemies that need to be eliminated, just like the police. If we make the Roman greeting (the fascist salute) they put us in prison. We will be tens of thousands. yes seen that, its a pity instead of planing to attack innocent football fans who happen to be muslim they wouldnt have targeted people who really praised or encouraged terrorist attacks, but I suppose this is because these people are racists . hopefully the police will stop them or they are just talking big
I can think of lots of places where islamic groups are killing non muslims, where changing your religion can get you a death sentence, this doesnt help matters.
Cat, I don't think there's much to worry about here. I know a bit about soccer violence and I know that as soon as a group plan an organized attack on another group then the police swoop. Soccer violence is taken extremely seriously around Europe and now that the "Ultras" have declared their intentions the police will sort it. The World Cup is going to be huge and the security will be huge also. Besides, I can't imagine the "Ultras" working with other countries, especially the English. They stabbed a few Middlesborough fans a couple of weeks ago, and these factions don't get on. I understand you're outraged by the "Ultras" attitude, but they are a racist group and that's it. The abuse they give black players is overwhelming and they have to put up with it every week. Soccer has some facist fans Cat, just like Islam also has fanatics that are planning terrorist attacks at the World Cup. It's just the way it is at the moment, but it is changing. Racism has decreased amongst soccer fans. Peace & love.

my friends wanna go over to germany for the world cup. Id rather go see a german metal festival I think its kinda funny that people kicking a ball around is more likely to cause more violence the loud music about evil and destruction.

Dear Cat, My view is that it's bad when people want to fight, or attack members of other religions. Despite all the negative publicity, I am sure real Muslims would not want to act like this. However - football is a negative thing anyway. It wastes millions of dollars/euros/pounds in a spectacle really fit only for children. It is merely a distraction, a way power holding beings have of controlling the population. It is actually quite distressing to see the hold it has over the minds of millions. And it has nothing at all to do with any kind of spiritual path as far as I can see. It is a disease exported by the British all over the world.

Thanks Cat. It's a great shame that many western people take their ideas about Muslim people from the media with it's bias and hysteria. It may be that many who condemn Islam out of hand have never met or spent time with Muslims, as I have myself in Morocco. I found there some of the most beautiful people I have ever encountered, with a mentality, I have to say, far better than that which is prevelant in my own country in many ways. As you know, I am not a Muslim, but I have respect for Islam - except where it is abused and used to promote political aims - and the same goes for other religions.

I'm sorry Catstevens to go off topic here, but I cannot accept the parts I've highlighted in this post. Cat ignore this if you must it's irrelevent to your original post. BlackBillBlake, there are a lot of negative things surrounding football, but it's not negative as a game, and I hope that's what you mean. A lot of people abuse the sport with negative actions, but football as a game is positive and brings together every nationality as one. It's a fitness based sport that you must have a huge amount of skill to be able to play. To say it's fit only for children is incredibly ignorant as it's productive for fitness, skill and mental awareness. I play football and am amazingly fit because of it. If it's fit only for children then why do so many adults around the world appreciate the sport? We can't all be wrong that like the game? At the end of the day football is a sport or a hobby and to describe that as a disease is like doing so to every other sport. If football is used in the right way then it's a wonderful game that brings happiness to many. Peace & love to you all.
