btw I recommend yoga journal's website (yogajournal.com) because they have streaming video of asanas and a plethora of articles on poses and sequencing

Well it helps to know what your aim in practicing Hatha yoga is!

Are you doing it just as a hobby?

Or as part of the system of Raja Yoga, which was its original purpose (Asanas were originally meant to allow the body to sit still for extended periods of time)

It depends what your body needs for that day...try to do at least one pose for all the ways to move your spine-neutral (tadasana, dandasana), twisting (seated twists, revolved triangle or chair pose), backbends ("baby bends" first-locust pose, cobra, updog, then deeper ones like Upward Bow/Chakrasana, and camel)., forward bends (standing or sitting forward bends, especially after backbending), side bends (ardha chandrasana, triangle pose) and inversions (shoulderstand/sgarvasana, halasana, legs up the wall pose).
Also, on days I feel I need "balance," I do balancing poses like tree pose, eagle pose, etc. When i need to feel "grounded" I do a lot of mountain pose or warrior poses. When I need to feel open or when I have just worked my pecs at the gym, I do a lot of chest opening backbends. Even if I know that I will be getting sex later, I do a lot of hip openers!
Again, I'm not a certified teacher, but I have been practicing for years and know what I'm talking about. Alternatively, just take a class or rent a video to get sequencing ideas.
