Yes, theoretically, you could use dish soap, in combination with hot water, however, from past experiences I have found that to be somewhat ineffective. Parooze your local grocery store and purchase a container of isopropyl (spelling?) alcohol and dump it into a bucket. Submerge your pipe in the chemical and let it sit overnight. By morning, your piece should be looking like new.

dont be so lazy allie cat haha

alrite this is wat i do and its ghetto but do it it works fine

    1. get like 10 tooth picks cuz they break alot
    2. just put plain soap on it (liquid soap) and then
    3. scrape with tooth picks
    4. get a kleenex and use that with the toothpicks to clean rez
5 constantly rinse with water to keep from gettting soapy

    enjoy

a paperclip works better than toothpicks, in case you decide to go that route.

Yea, if you're going to rinse it with water, hot water always does a better job than cold. But if your piece is thin don't make the water too hot, piece might shatter.

right... if i ever get the urge to smoke out of a completely clean pipe... i usually just buy a new one... other than that the most my pipes get cleaned is the bowl itself

rubbing alcohol is great. i also used to take baths a lot, and i would just bring it in there with me. shampoo worked pretty well for me. and you know those tiny brushes they give you when you get braces? cleans that baby out like a charm!

haha i'll keep that in mind.

my friend used to clean her piece with some kinda crazy chemical. it'd kinda linger in there and the highs we'd get would rock.

This is going to freak everybody out, but brake cleaner. I swear up and down, it works like magic. My boyfriend is a seasoned toker (workin on 10 years now) and that's his favorite method. He squirts a good bit in the bowl and stem, shakes it up really good for awhile, works it around for a few minutes (basically, covers up all the holes and shakes it), then makes sure to wash it thoroughly with dish soap and water. The brake cleaner will remove resin and make your pipe look clean as the day you first had it, and the soap and water afterwards will be sure to remove any possibly toxic fumes/chemicals left inside. He's been doing it for years and hasn't died yet, so I swear by it.
