cheap easy vapo?

I've heard of making a lightbulb vaporizer and was curious how the hell you do so and then how you use it <--- no experience with smoking

 

Take a burnt-out, regular sized lightbuild, and smash the cermic/metal end of it (shown in the red circle) with a spoon. [edit- Try a bulb that isn't burnt out if you want, but I hear they might implode or crack once you break the seal.]

Clean out all the wires, pieces, and bits of ceramic from the bulb. Next you MUST clean out the white frosting that coats the inside of the bulb. Shake some hot saltwater around inside the bulb. Try some water mixed with dishwasher detergent too. Rinse the bulb clean and let it dry (you don't want to be inhaling steam). It should be completely clear like this.

Next, get a bottle cap (almost any bottle cap will screw perfectly onto the bottom of the bulb). Punch two holes in it- widen one of the holes so you can fit a straw through.

To Use:Break up your herb and put it the bulb. Screw the cap on and hold the bulb underneath a flame (either a gas lighter or candle will work) until you see a green "vapor" swirling up. Drag slowly on the straw. Do not put the bulb right into the flame. The idea behind a vaporizer is that the weed is not being burnt or smoked, it is being heated until the THC vaporizes. Very smooth, give it a shot.

 

and be careful when heating it up..must always be sure to hold the tip of the flame about an inch and a half away from the bulb because you dont want it to get too hot and expand and explode..but if you are careful and keep it that far away you will be fine..and also, i recomend using a candle because lighters can run out when using this method..enjoy =)

 

when i had one i used to always hold theligher com,pletely on to it, not saying this is right at all in fact it was probably wrong, but yeah t never blew up or anyting

 

holding the lighter that close can make it taste very strong and nasty..i dont recomend it..

 

Holding the flame on the lighter slows it down. It works fastest, and dun get the glass black if you have the tip of the flame 1/4 inch away from the glass. (also stops the glass from turning all black n nasty on the outside.)

 

And try and get a light bulb that is about 75 watts because its made to withstand more heat. You can make it work higher or lower, but I tried it before with a low one and it didnt work, but my 75w works fine.

 

how much vapor should be floating around the bulb before you hit it?

 

I wait untill after it starts giving off several good streams of vapor, then i shake it(which gives off a ton of vapor) and I usualy hit it after one or two shakes, but you dont need to take huge hits

how is the high off them? like, better then a bong or gravity bong?

 

the high is great, clean and smooth, healthier for you, but also stronger, its really great...but just 20 minutes ago i dropped my lightbulb vape right before i was gonna toke, it shattered everywhere...so im understandably angry right now

 

dude i just made a lightbulb vaporizer about half an hour ago... make sure it's perfectly clear... no frost.... and DONT smash the metel piece off... that isnt right....

you take a knife or saw and cut half of it off... so that you can put a 2 liter pop bottle cap on it because it is threaded and drill 2 holes in the cap one for the straw to suck out the vapor and one for a shotgun... also try and use a new bulb... i wouldnt suggest using a burnt out one... also when taking out the filament and stuff be careful... it's air tight and when you break the seal some stuff will shoot out across the room... trust me...

 

actually looking at the pics... yers looks better... is the glass part of the bulb threaded too?

 

no, but there's a lot of weird shit holding the metal part on... i've always just busted the metal part off, leaving sharp edges on the bulb and covering it with a little bit of duct tape... that one dude's method looks alot easier and more convenient...

it tastes really really bad kinda like burnt corn what is going on

 

so does it actually vapor the weed and just burn only the thc and shit as like a normal one does or is it basically a peice?

 

it keeps direct heat from touching the grass... its not as effective as a real vaporizer, but its alot more effective than a bowl or a doobie
