    Hi Guys

My question is do you all manage to make a decent living from your craft skills? If so how do you go about publicity / advertising etc or do you just manage by word of mouth.

I used to do a lot of freelance design and making up but I've not anything for a long time.

I advertise like crazy yet still no one buys anything. "As soon as I get paid on Friday, I want to get ____ from you!" Whatever they were going to buy is still sitting on my site, three months later. I can't use Etsy because I don't have a credit card.

Advertising works. Ebay, etsy websites are also good. I don't know how familiar you are with things like tupperware and candle parties, but I know folks who do the same for crafts - they make their stuff, have a catalogue ready to show, and invite 3 or 4 friends who each also invite 2 or 3 of their own people who come check out your stuff one evening and hopefully buy it.
