never been there but I have used hostel world for apartments. don't book it through hostel world if you can book it directly with the hostel...you'll save $
Bobs is a good place, only problem is the curfew. they say on their site that there is none but believe me there is. around 3am if i remember correctly. If you are lookin for a good location try flying pig downtown to be right in the thick of the action or the flyin pig palace which is about 10-15mins walk from the centre but is right beside leidsplein and vondelpark which is a great place for shrooming or a relaxing smoke. Last time we went over both pigs were booked up so we stayed at bulldog hostel, (which if you believe all you read on the net is a dump). have to say i feckin loved the place, that said we did have a prvate room, for 3 of us. still fairly cheap and best location you could ask for. I stayed in all 3 and would have to recommend either the pig palace or bulldog hostel. only advantage the pigs have over bulldog is really cheap beer, only 2.80 a pint or 2 on thursdays, this may sound pricey but for the dam its nothin. Have a blast
i've stayed at the bulldog hotel on the old side canal before. I always liked it.....a bit overpriced, cool location, cool dvd / smoke lounge, staff can be a bit standoffish at times but really cool at other times. There was this super hot girl named Sonja working there years ago that I convinced to go rollerblading in Vondelpark with me and we had a blast p.s. the coffeeshop downstairs is actually fun to chill in but the gear is lack lustre...
