I recently moved in with 4 friends to help save my freind's house after his mom found online love and ditched the joint. We call it our little commune. Now the problem: it is a big 4 bedroom house and we have 2 living areas. I have to be at work at 7AM, and still everyone else insists on partying in the living area RIGHT by my bedroom door. The other night when I asked them to move into the other living room, they accused me of "Big Brothering" out on them. I feel like a dork because I can't party non stop like the rest of them. Sleep is more important!! What would you do??
Tell them something like... "I want to party with y'all and i WILL when i don't have to work the next morning but for now, i gots to get some sleep so i can earn some $$ for our lil' commune" then see if maybe you can switch bedrooms to a quieter spot. Even if that means fixing up a room in the attic or basement or whatever. Or, get up in the morning and make a shit load of noise!! peace barefootnikki ps.. good luck
I'd either ask for a different room or move. Sounds like your housemates couldn't care less about your side of the situation. If they can party all night, ie don't have to work, and don't respect the fact that you do they're assholes.
LoL I didn't even think of that! It just may be the best way to take action. *ponders cranking up the stereo and then walking out the door to go to work* Oh, evil thoughts Muhahahhahahahahahahhahahah LoL But it has been getting better for the past couple of days.
I'm really not trying to be a callous jerk here but... Get used to it. No really, I lived in several different houses with between 4 and 8 guys and boy did we ever raise all sorts of hell at all hours. And I always had a job. Getting up at 5 am while everyone else is still up from the night before, working overnights and swing shifts. I just learned how to tune out the background noise. And it has served me well ever since. My current friends are still amazed that I can go to sleep whenever I want, regardless of the time of day or noise around me.
