I'm thinking of getting my hair cut...short. Just for something different.
Why do people associate hippies with long hair???

I think that was more back in the day. Most of the long haired people I meet aren't hippyish in any way shape or form. Hippy-like people come in all shapes and sizes, with hairstyles and clothing. I don't think that the stereotypical hippy is still the case. Besides, it is more about the attitude and thought process.

I don't think I'll ever cut my hair, well, besides for trims here and there. I tease my hubby and say that when I'm an old biddy I'll have a big ol' bun at the top of my head because I am NOT getting my hair hacked off like every other older woman I see with hair styles identical to one another! *stamps foot*

At least, I say that now. [IMG]

HippyLandscaper has pretty much hit the nail on the head. It's what's inside that makes you a hippie, not the outside.

hehe. i think long hair is associated with being more natural and such. dunno. i look wretched with long hair. i hate it. i'm never going back. except maybe when i'm old, and my hair gets more coarse as it turns gray. then i'll be all contrary and walk around with my long gray hair hanging down my back. and when people look at it i'll say "damned rain, washed my bluing out."
