    Hey there fire fly .......
I have a question. Are fireflies meant to be captured and if not then why?
Do you think they were created to light the way of our imagination?
What usually happens when one tries to capture it?

Sometimes we react like children who try to capture and contain something magical, not realizing the outcome is often sad because it was not ours to take. Oh poor firefly, your light is not meant to be captured is it?

Some things come to you if you are true to yourself. Once I stood still in the deep dark woods and the magical fireflies seemed to come right up to me, dancing around me like little magical fairies. It was beautiful. I knew it was best to not take them home with me, to have them do my bidding. I did that to only witness them lose their great light.

I secretly wished that they would blink endlessly for me next to my bedside as I slept. When I let them be free that time I took home a magical memory instead of the magical winged ones. That memory will last for me and them.

I learned to not take what is meant to be given. I learned this lesson the hard way. Do we mean for each other to shine, to flourish, to live, to breath, to grow in peace. We mean to do this, but we are still inclined to behave like children who want to contain the magic.

Oh, how I wish I was a firefly. If I could just fly with you, or stand in your midst again, that would be enough. What a joy. So the next time someone comes in your life and lights the way just say " My, My.… I’m just going to let you fly.

This one is to my firefly that lights the way
