I love names. For some strange reason I keep a list of interesting and pleasing names that I hear. A lot of the names I like are pretty normal, but here are some interesting ones I've taken note of that have yet to be mentioned:

    Cadence
    Fern
    Rain
    Griffin
    Read/Reed
    Maitland
    and one of my favorites...Leighton

These are not so much unique names as reasonably rare ones...

For girls, I like Serendipity for both sound and meaning, Scarlett, Ruby, Aurora, Bella and Violet. I also love the sort of pretty, old fashioned girls names - a girl I was at school with an Elspeth and a Lucinda which are both quite nice.

For boys - yeah it is difficult to get sort of alti names - Lauchlan is nice, as is Lauchie, so is Felix, Sebastian, Milo...

    Good luck with deciding :)

    Varuna is a fine name.

My favorite unusual names are Aaaahhh!, Click-Pow-Thud, Marmaduke and Jumpin' Jiminie. To invite a little less harassment during your child's tender years, you may want to consider Sophia, Joseph, Joshua, or Charis.

Some names are a little "problematic" but at least they do not label their parents as unimaginitive, intellectually passive, Wal-martian culture victims. Judas, Adolf, Caligula, Attila, Osama, Darth, Caiaphas, and Duh-bya. I would bet these names would be perfectly serviceable if you steam-clean the evil off of them, boil them in antiseptic, and polish them up a bit.

for a girl Rayna, Drewellen or Ragan. carrietta and shelley are nice too.

for a boy my favourite names are Dylan, Benito, Diego, Alexander and Joshua. i know they're not too unusual but it's hard to think of lads names.
