That is just dandy. I'm going to be printing that little piece of art out for someone to read if that would be alright with you. I am a young'n, but i tend to get along, and relate more with the older folk..and, oddly enough, some of that little poem described me. ha ha. This was my first year that i was going to be going to a Rainbow gathering, but sadly, i didn't get to go because of problems in the little world we all live in. I am really hoping to go next year, my boyfriend, whom was named from fello hippies, Diggady, and a friend, Tim (don't know if he's got a name or not) were going to be taking me, but we hope to go next year...Tim seems to be looking more forward to giving me a name than even i am..ha ha..i guess it's a big thing or something!

What’s a hippie? What’s the difference between an old hippie and a new hippie? Once a hippie, always a hippie? These and similar questions are the source of much debate today. New subcategories like web-hippies and cyber-hippies have become fashionable. But what is a hippie and are you one? To answer this question, let’s see what defines a hippie. Some say it’s the way people dress, and behave, a lifestyle. Others classify types of people like drug users and rock and roll fans as hippies (especially if they are both!), since their behaviors and attitudes differ from social norms. Radical political views once defined a hippie. Can all these definitions be right?

The dictionary defines a hippie as one who doesn’t conform to society’s standards and advocates a liberal attitude and lifestyle.

oh man! Sigh, how many times I've seen this question on a thread somewhere...........

OMG! Same thing happened here, kinda, some girls started pointing at me in school and yelling out, "HIPPIE!!!" Like, really really meanly. I think when that happens your a hippie ;) Just joking. It actually really sucked....but, hey I took it as a compliment...........why not?

But, I guess I was at your place at once. I dunno, I think you slowly just go into it, when your music taste changes, style, way of thinking...I think that mainly your way of thinking influences you and other peoples outlook on you very much. Just, be...whatever. Don't go around being like, "I'm a hippie now!" Cuz, people will just laugh and stuff. Just, if you want people to think of you as a "hippie" (personally, I would rather have people think of me as just ME) but, anyways, if you want them to start randomly saying like, "PEACE" or something, l0l, I dunno, it will catch on, just give it a couple years or so..........Luck with that hippiness! Hah.

    Homebudz...you make me smile. :)

Prerequisite to being a hippy: Taunting a fascist at least once, almost to the point of getting hurt. Those that are beaten up are 'superhippies.' You don't see many of those around as the fascists have become less recognizable and have learned to even sound/look like hippies. Ah.. for the good old days when hippies were hated..
