Would this album be considered prog? Deep purple were one of the first progressive rock bands along with The Moody Blues and Procul Harem. However Deep Purple's song from 1968 "Kentucky Woman" doesn't sound prog to me, but maybe "Child In Time" is.

It depends on what it is. Its like many of the Zeppelin songs arent ALL rock and roll. it all depends on the song....

I would consider Deep Purple a hard rock band with proggy elements to them!

    ... not prog at all.
One of my favorite bands though, and an outstanding album.
Speed King and Into The Fire have these amazing grooves.
