Would this album be considered prog? Deep purple were one of the first progressive rock bands along with The Moody Blues and Procul Harem. However Deep Purple's song from 1968 "Kentucky Woman" doesn't sound prog to me, but maybe "Child In Time" is.
Never really thought of Deep Purple as Prog...well maybe.. I had the joyous experience of catching a couple of years back in Dublin. Brilliant!!!
It depends on what it is. Its like many of the Zeppelin songs arent ALL rock and roll. it all depends on the song....
Well maybe one or two songs... But that's it. Emerson Lake and Palmer, King Crimson.. Now that's progressive man!!!
... not prog at all. One of my favorite bands though, and an outstanding album. Speed King and Into The Fire have these amazing grooves.
im a huge ritchie blackmore fan,to me deep purple was just loud straight ahead no frills rock and roll.gotta love it
