I hate Parliament, but I love Funkadelic. Parliament is like disco too much. 70-74 funkadelic is where it's at.
They're a big favourite of mine... I admit I started on Parliament, then discovered Funkadelic, and now it's clear to me that Funkadelic are the band in that movement. By the time of One Nation Under A Groove and beyond, they both kind of merged together into the P-Funk amalgam which is where I lose interest... I do like the definition between the hard-edged, guitar driven funk/rock of Funkadelic and the more Party/Funk/Disco horn driven edge of Parliament.. Saying that though, there are some great Parliament tracks.
Dude self-titled funkadelic is a funk rock masterpiece IMHO. Mouth harp solo on music for my mother.. yea that's on there pretty sure.. got that shit as my voicemail greeting rofl, starts from where he goes "gon miss gettin a lil bit a that ooole funkay thaaangg" then starts ripping it on the mouth harp (pretty sure that's what it is), CLASSIC
