    Ok, all last night I couldn't sleep cuz I kept coughing, really painfully, and because of the constant coughing, I puked 3 times. My lungs are sore, and I'm sure they're full of mucous, but, my question is should I keep smoking like I regularly do, or take a break until this condition has gone away? I've been smoking for very close to 11 years, and this hasn't happened to me before, so, any help and advice would be very greatly appreciated....

    I can't tell you what it is. But I can suggest this:

    1. Stop smoking for a little while. This won't hurt you- so it is worth a try. As well not smoking will always be a nice little treat for your lungs.
    2. Go to a doctor. Constant and painful coughing is no good. Niether is puking from it....Plus if your SURE your lungs are full of muscus, that is bad.

    Do what you want and what you feel is right. But stopping and a doctor visit can't hurt.

    Do we really have to tell you to stop smoking for awhile? Wouldnt that be common sense since your lungs are shit right now?

    Do you want us to dress you in the morning and cut your waffles as well?

    i had an upper respitory infection forever. heres what happened;
    i was diagnosed, but didnt take anything for it. i kept smoking ciggarettes & weed like a fucken chimney. the coughing got worse and worse and the shit i coughed up got nastier and nastier. then i got an abcess on my tonsil and my throat was all fucked up i couldnt eat for five days cuz it hurt to swallow and i couldnt breathe, i lost hella weight, and couldnt smoke a goddamn thing for like five days. i have to get the abcess drained & go on antibiotics & now i am waaay better & still smoking the shit out of that weed!

    oh, my parents are practically retarted from all their years of drug use, so, they didn't say nothing when I started smoking...and yes, I started when I was 6, b/c I remember going to kindergarten high sometimes.
    but yes, anyways, thanks to all of you who actually had something relevant to say...

    happyonehit, yeah I'd take a break for a while until it goes away. Definitely get it checked out though. Coughing a lot is one thing, but puking thrice from it is another.

    Sirtokesalot, yes. Would you please come here and cut my waffles for me? I like butter, syrup and powdered sugar on them. I can dress myself, so you don't have to do that.
