my mom said she is making me take out my dreads...she constantly tells me to cut them and how she hates em..and my bro is being mean and saying it too to get on my moms good side...she really said shes making me take them out but i said im refusing too...it sucks cause where always fighting about it..but i love my dreads and dont want to cut them..it really sucks..she says she wants them out for senior photos which i think is so stupid..so i dont know what to do...im gunna be resistant because i dont want to lose em...but she said she will cut them out in my sleep or sum other way...argh...peace and love
Don't let her do that. That's so sad. But, it might be better to please her and get it over with. G'luck!
i dont have any pics right now but my mom always hated dreads...so it isnt mine in perticular but any dreadhead..peace and love
Ahh, I know the feeling. I was forced to cut my hair for those damn senior pictures too! Argh, I hate those damn phony things. Everyone thinks they're SO important... sheesh!
Oh no man, haha! It was parents. Sorry, I guess I didn't say that right. :& But yeah, if the SCHOOL tried to make me cut my hair, pff, there's no way I'd do it. That WOULD be total bullshit.
i hate the idea of getting my senior pictures. So guess what. i have a digital camera and me and my friend desided she is going to take mine on my digital and i am going to take hers on her digital camera. That way we only have to pay for the pictures being developed at wal-mart. plus then we can have as many poses and outfit changes as we want. anyway i hope it works out good. hawc
dito dito dito, wash yoh head uv dat dumb shit. day luuk like good chunkz uv uh know what, good hair shit.
When my brother was in high school he had this long, tangled greasy looking hair down past his chin. He and my mom were constantly fighting over it. She, being a very cool mom, was willing to let him keep his long hair, even though she didn't really like it, as long as he would keep it neat. This seemed like a pretty simple compromise to me, but he just wouldn't concede. One morning before church, they were having a big argument about how he wouldn't just comb it all the way out before we left. I said to him, "why can't you just comb it and trim it?" He answered, "Why can't you just shave your head?" Without thinking, I said, "Because I like my hair!" and he replied, "well, I like mine, too." That really struck me. I mean, yes, it's just silly appearances and whatnot, but on the other hand, you have to live with how you present yourself to the world, and how you feel about the way you look, no one else does, so why should they decide how you cut your hair. If it became switched around, and it was socially acceptable to only have extremely short or shaved hair as a girl, I wouldn't want to cut mine still; I just got lucky with the tide of the times.
Hah. My mom payed to get my dreads done so I doubt that she'll be cutting them out anytime soon. My mom's going to school to be a hairdresser though so she doesn't really care what I do with my hair seeing as she's always trying funky new things in her own.
