well hippies, lsd is often the drug associated with em. Its one of the piece of the puzzle which made this kind of people dropout and such in the 60s...and Yes it makes some people go crazy but whadyawant, at least its niot generating much crime compared to other stuff

But i agree...alot of people here seem to kinda glorify the drugs, in the marijuana forum most of the time. Like the kid with the goggles or sometn...sometimes it makes me a bit upset but its free speech.

You act as if you're superior to a group of people, based on what you read in a DRUG forum. What were you expecting coming to a forum where various drugs are the topic of discussion? Have you read any of the other forums besides this one? Certainly not all of us agree with using all kinds of drugs - read some of the threads about meth and you'll see that half the responses are "don't do that crap, its gross" etc.

LSD does have its uses, and I'll admit that a lot of people use the drug for the wrong reasons. But it is benecifial given the correct circumstances.

Crime is rear, when was the last time you where killed, mugged, raped etc...
It's not the drugs! It is the lack of jobs and the lack of education that the individual has, in fact it is the individuals choice how much they want to learn in school.

I'm not defending drugs and drug use, for i believe they are bad only if a person is taking then day in and day out. LSD is a drug that should only be used occasionally. Just like Alcohol should be used, but is alcohol used this way?

Sure; most people use occasionally, It's just that, it is the few who abuse it! That makes a bad name/reputation for the responsible ones.

LSD especially isn't used Daly by most people it is something used by most 4 or 5 times a year. I feel you will learn this in time. Then again you could just be stuck in how you view the world.

If you don't like hippies or drugs you can just stay away from this forum. I have to admit that at times I wonder if being around hippies is the best thing. Sometimes I wonder if when I get older I will once again become more strait-laced. You can be like some fundamentalist Christians and insulate yourself from the evils of modern society: I wonder if that idea, extreme as it is, is the solution you are looking for.

I could bring up the obvious point that crime committed by hippies or semi-hippies in Britain is likely to be virtually nonexistent, or that Britain's problems are not because of psychedelics. But it seems to me rational arguments are not what you are looking for.

If you want to learn about hippies, you will have to come to terms with the fact that drugs played an important role in the movement from the mid-'60s to the early '70s. Many hippies were opposed to drug use, but hippies generally kept an open mind about them, because they saw drugs as tools to open the mind rather than as a way to escape from reality.

Hippies vary in sexual orientation and race (although the vast majority are White and heterosexual), have different political beliefs (although many, like me, are apolitical) and philosophies, and likewise some choose to use and not to use drugs. What they have in common is a rejection of the values of mainstream society, especially in regards to money, status, and even sex.

Maybe you should immigrate to an Islamic country. They probably would share with you many of your ideas on how society should be. Like you, they don't care for rational arguments; they'd rather close their eyes and ears to human nature.
