This is an example of Country Rock, a style of Rock that emerged in the 60's. There is debate on the possbilty that Country + Rythym & Blues = Rock 'n' Roll.
wel i watched a prog on black music and in that Ray Charles himself said that rock n roll is basically just white peoples Rythm and Blues cos all the white people nicked the black peoples songs and they didnt want the same name so they changed it to rock n roll. apart from that i have no idea
There is more to it than that, I don't buy that bullshit that the whites stole the blacks music. They borrowed from each other. The music of the 30's and 40's is the roots of. I don't like the racist stuff, and the British Invasion showed what whites could do with rock and roll, the British progressed it. Everyone is always on the black man's ass. fuck that shit! I am the southern man!
wo calm down did i ever say i was on the blacks side? im not on a side, i was simply saying what i saw on a prog
Fats Domino's song "Blueberry Hill" (1956) was originaly a country western song done by Gene Autry in a hollywood cowboy movie from 1940. Being from hollywood it is more pop than the other country music that doesn't come from hollywood or as we may say "Tin Pan Alley", which was the pop centre of the earlier 20th century, based in New York. Thus Fats Domino took an old country song and changed it into his style of New Orleans R & B/Rock 'n' Roll that was popular in the 50's.
The Eagles were one of the bands who had that "Mythical Americana" theme that started with such artists as the Band around 1968. I like the Eagles.
are you serious??? the british invasion copied quite a bit from the black rock n roll artists, especially chuck berry, muddy waters and robert johnson, amoung others. rock n roll didnt really develop from country. it was rockabilly which drew from country and rock....... rock and roll is a black thing whether you agree or not..... hell it was a black slang term for having sex.
The Eagles are one of the greatest bands ever (probably my personal favorite). You can't underestimate their influence...such a great, mellow, laid-back sound. CLASSIC.
Don't compare The Eagles to The Band...The Band was fucking amazing! Ike Turner had the first rock song called Rocket 88. Yes, Johnson, Dixon, Waters,Berry have influenced alot of musicians. There's an old saying that i believe rings true. You can't rock without the blues! Blues will always be a part of rock n roll.
