Location

how come no one puts their real location in the personal information on the left side of the posts? it seems like everyone puts something weird...it seems like people used to list their real location but not so much anymore...maybe there is a growing concern for privacy.

Hm.. For us Brits, not much could be obtained simply by putting the county we live in on here.. But maybe we ARE afraid for our freedom and privacy..

I'm not sure about the States.. You have, well, states of course, but you have county that may help evil-doers locate you..

Maybe the bigger fear is a simple one. That you just don't want PM's from people just becasue they live within 50 miles of you.. I know I don't respond well to that.

 

im pretty sure my location has always said what it does now. its weird getting random PMs from people living in or close to the state but it doesnt bother me enough to change it

 

perhapse some, if not most of us, would rather be living someplace wierder then where we are. i know i would. and on line at least, you can BE who and what, ever you wish to pretend to be. like the one legged man playing tarzan.

and why the hell not?

maybe, just maybe, or immaginations are truer to our true selves, then whatever mundane conditions, in real life, we are surrounded by.

i can think of a couple of other good reasons too. but i consider this the best of them.
