Why cant I germinate the seeds and get little buds and then plant them ina normal soil mix (with good drainage) and leave it on me window sill? I get good enough sun, i can water it no problem. Im not looking for a cream of the crop return on my planst here, im all natural. why wont it work?

Dont take this wrong but you need to read a grow book as there are to many variables to be explained.

lol I saw you post that to someone else too! but really though, Im not lazy, fuck, im studying horticulture and floristy at seneca, but like, whats the reason that everyone goes all out? its the potency isnt it?
why cant you smoke alot of not as strong all natural weed. I smoked some 'jamaiican' weed, and it was totaslly different, it tasted dirty and weak, like it was grown naturally. whetther it really was jam or not i dont care.
    lol yeah

You're studying horticulture and you don't know why your idea won't work?
It has almost nothing to do with potency.
Pot grown like you suggest won't veg properly (not enough light inside and it won't grow with house lights) and it won't ever flower, unless the room it's in can be made COMPLETELY DARK for the same 12 hrs/per 24, for 2 months.

    And that's just for starters.

"All natural" doesn't mean growing without fertilizer. Plants (like most living things) need nutrients.

I saw a window sill grow in Alaska. But it was in some guy's living room picture window wide open to the sun. 8 to 10 plants spread across the window. It was kinda neat watching them progress thru the year. Never did find out what came of 'em. One day the window was full, then next.....gone.
But for growing indoors surreptitiously, one must use lights. How 'all out' you want to go is up to you. My 'all out' is as simple, easy, cheap and fun cheap as I can make it and still maintain me & mine in the manner to which we have become accustomed. Someone else's might require considerably more time & investment but pay off with mega-weed. And for that I say, "God bless 'em!"

I am considering becoming a lazy grower. Indoor. Potting soil + backyard dirt.
It sounds like the lighting intensty and schedule is the crucial part.
    Until the spider mites come.

Am I missing a lot in my ill formed plans?

just put outside, build a frame around them with plastic, veg till one foot tall.
at night put tarp on green house for twelve hours, make sure it blocks the light.
take tarp aff in the morning for twelve hours.
do this for about two months, you will get buds.
how good is a bud mostly is due to generics, strains.
how you grow it can affect it as well.

i've always grown naturally,i dont beleive in filling your plants with chemicals.
only people who fill their plants with chemicals are the sellers,
make them bigger, smellier, faster.spend the money and get a good strain,
you wont need to use chemicals.

trick with spider mites is,lots of air movement, low humidity and colder the better.
also a weekly vaccuming of the underside of the leaves helps alot too.
dustbuster hand held vaccums works well.
keep it clean!i know guys that change their clothes before they step in their room!

Thouroughly wash plants with a mayonaise and water mixture to get rid of mites.
It creates a coating on the leaves that the mites will not eat.
The mayo-mix won't harm your plants. The plant remains breathable, but it doesn't hurt to rinse your plants after a day.
Follow up by misting the plants (the UNDERSIDE silly, where the mites hide) with the mayonaise solution for about a week. Mist with mayo-mix in the morning, and with water in the evening to rinse residues. Or whatever schedule you prefer.

It's a housewife trick I learned from my mother, and it works, I promise you. Better than pesticide even.

We saved a crop of hundreds of clones with this trick. Which would have been devastating at $10/each

Which brings to mind a WORD OF WARNING.
If you get clones from someone else, DO NOT mix them with your other plants until you are sure they are pest free AND disease free.
In fact, I wouldn't even recommend getting clones from someone else, period.
Same goes for supplies, such as soil or pots, etc.
Pots can be sterilized, but soil can't.

Nickelbag are you sure it was the mayo that worked and not just the fact that you were washing them. Mayo is very acidid due to the vinegar. Could it have been this?
Introducing predators is another good idea.

I should have said how much mayo I guess huh? ;)
You dont need much, only about 1 tsp of mayo per litre of water.
Not half and half or something crazy :p

And I'm sure it's the mayo..
Actually it's the egg.. but you won't disolve an egg in water

For those of you who are thinking you could just rub egg on your plants instead then..
Your plants will NOT be able to breathe then.

I suppose I could explain why it works too..
This is mostly just my own theory mind you, but it makes sense to me.

When you spray the mayo-mix on your plants, the vinegar evaporates and the egg dries, leaving a thin film on the leaves.
The mites won't eat the egg, because it's protien, not vegatative. They starve and die.
Providing the film is not too thick, it will flake off like dandruff when the plant is disturbed a bit. Usually just watering or rotating the plants, or better yet, inspecting for mites, disturbs them enough to shake the film off.
