well, not necessarily the second one, but what about that mostly worthless UN group, whats it called, or similar groups, etc etc...

I've been doing a huge huge huge project on Iran for my 21st Century World class, and while I do not agree or support the war in Iraq, what Bush set out to do he did (well, mostly... he removed saddam), and i no longer remain ignorant to the fact that the removal of saddam was nothing but good to the people of iraq. while bush may have underlying motives (which i'm certain he does), he has more than likely created a better world for iraqis in the future. i think an invasion of iran (a real threat to the world and especially the West) would be keeping in line with the Bush doctrine of pre-emption and also could eventually give Iranians more personal freedoms we all take for granted.... I would support U.S. military action in Iran 100%-ly. the troops cannot do much more in iraq, if anything, really. they should be withdrawn or at least set on alert for an american invasion of iran. this would also keep in line with bush's rhetoric of spreading freedom and democracy throughout the world/middle east.

on my own earlier this evening, i spent a good 4 hours being "sidetracked" by the massacre in rwanda. after learning about how the world pretty much ignored the rwandans, it really got me thinking, is music worth it? is trying to do anything for your own self-gain really worth it when there are people on the same planet as you who dont even have the freedom to speak out against their own government who prevents their women from doing almost anything? when people are imprisoned and torchered by their state for posting their opinions on certain actions on online blogs, is there any reasonable excuse for someone deciding not to do a thing about it? when teenagers are hung for dating how can anyone think it right to go on living their own selfish lives?

come on lodui, i know youre on, help me out with the names, if ya dont mind... i know you know em :p

and yes, i know i'm a hypocrite. i'd rather be a hypocrite than a liar or a person who is too stubborn and ignorant to ever give up a certain point of view.

perhaps this realization will pass as my severe mania of the last few days goes away... but until then, i will believe that this is a real feeling of "i want to do this."

What the fuck have I not been smoking. :D

While I would support military action against Iran and while I really would like to do something about the human rights injustices in this world, I would never join the military.

    Well...most likely never.

Non-medicated bi-polar can be pretty fucking amusing. :D I wonder what I will decide upon next. :d

I apologize for this blatant waste of forum space. Good lord.

i dont really know what to say o_O...i have one huge flaw in life, and that is that im in my own bubble, and that i pretty much ignore everything out in the world. i know that there are millions of people that i dont know getting mistreated, ignored and are dieing for no good reason, but i feel powerless to help...but honestly, i just want to live my life how i wish to and do what feels right.

im glad that you are noticing whats really going on, and that maybe you should do something to help, buuuut...i dont know. i dont know enough about what the peace corp. does to know if it would really help awhole lot. im sure it would, but what do i know o_O

its best if someone like lodui was on right now :D

christ almighty, this thread is a perfect example of why i can not stray too far from the psychedelic pop of the late 60s and bob dylanism....

    I've got some fucking problems.
    lmao..

I'm gonna go off into hiding for a few days... probably until i finish my iran project, and to avoid the embarrassment that will surely ensue with this thread. :p I fare thee well, I shall see thou all later.

this thread will most likely stir up some sort of debate, unless it somehow goes unnoticed by certain people...i'll most likely not be posting at all when that happens.

catch ya later chuck, good luck with your project :D

If you are concerned about what's going on in the world, don't join the UN peace corps. :( It was pretty much the UN, World Bank and other multilateral development agencies that actually triggered the genocide in Rwanda. Sure, Rwanda was a fucked up country before with ethnic conflicts and bad government and all that but the UN only made it worse with its actions..

All I'm saying is that the army requires you to conform for the betterment of militaristic performance. That's necessary, but it's sad to see so many colorful people rubbed out to blend in.
