Nations have to care for the UN to care. What the UN does or doesn't is influenced by the nations that fund it.
Which are all one in the same. At the top, it's all the same few people. The UN is nothing more than a tool used to centralize power and control, eroding national sovereignty in favor of world government. The UN doesn't care because it isn't their job to care. The UN is headed by power-hungry psychopaths, just like the U.S. is. All of them are working for the same agenda.
How can the powerless UN make a NWO? And why might the NWO be that bad--there seems to be much more merit in a world government than in a bunch of little warring national governments. The UN is going to be subject to whims of these nations anyway, and what isn't profitable doesn't get cleared because that is the state of the world today. There's not a concept of future for them to ponder, because these nations have concerned themselves with preserving this wondrous state of global affairs we've got going already. It has to start democratically, because there is no other way. If the people change their opinion, the leaders will be forced to, and then the UN will intercede. Such is the nature of demos cratos. If the people lead, the leaders will follow.
