I just discovered the painting "The Birth Of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me who the other people are in the picture. I think one of them is the goddess Demeter and of course there is Venus, duh!

    But who are the others?

No idea...why don't you search on Google for the myth, and maybe you'll find out...

i believe you are right. i think the person on the shore is supposed to represent one of the Medici, but i could be wrong. it's been a while since i studied the painting. it is one of my favorites though. it's been the background on my computer for 2 years. lol. i'll look through my notes for you and let you know later unless someone else answers before i get to it.

    The Birth of Venus

They are the Zephyrs (on the left), and as for the lady on the right - it calls her "one of the Ores, goddesses of the seasons" but Demeter happened to be a goddess of the seasons. So I don't see why it couldn't be her if you want.
